Bad service, decent food

The woman server was very unhappy to work here, cold with us and not friendly at all when we arrived.
Another server made a "mistake" which would make us pay a panna cotta that we didn't order (the first time I see it).

The food tastes good fortunately, but I dont recommend the moscardini fritti vegani, with too much fried stuff it isnt actually worth the price. The pasta were very realistic and enjoyable.
We didn't really like the tiramisu as there was not enough coffee and too much creme patissiere. The Flower Burger one is better.

Overall I wouldn't recommend a lot this restaurant, which is a bit overrated to me. Buddy Veggy is probably a better alternative if you didn't try.

Decent but not stellar

Moscardini starter was so greasy I actually gave up on eating it, even after copious amounts of lemon juice and some added mayo to dip. Tasted a bit like old oil, not really enjoyable at all. Cannelloni was quite good, and I’d eat it again, but I’d definitely pick a different starter next time. Didn’t have the issues with the staff others have reported, I found that bit to be totally fine.

Food with drama, and not in a good way

I stopped here when there were almost no customers. The lone server did nothing to persuade me to try it as I looked at the menu before deciding, and after I asked if I could have a table for one, he abruptly said that they were fully booked at seven even though I was asking for right now. Then he took a call while I was standing there without so much as saying excuse me. After he finally seated me, left me alone, and returned to take my order, only then did he inform me the chef was currently on a break so they could only serve me certain categories of food from the menu. I was starving as I just flew in today and hadn’t eaten a full meal in almost a day, yet when I tried to ask if the Parmigiana di tempeh del Rifugio that I wanted to order was large enough to eat on its own or I should order an appetizer too, he actually talked me out of ordering anything else and said I could order more later if I wanted. He also didn’t ask me if I wanted to order a drink. At that point I thought maybe he didn’t like lone customers, which I’ve experienced before. He seated a couple behind me and he told them that the chef would be returning shortly so he suggested ordering appetizers now and waiting to order pasta later (he had told me I couldn’t order pasta). At the time that solidified my opinion, but then he was very friendly to the other lone customer and told a couple that arrived as I was finishing eating about how they were fully booked at seven like he had said to me, as he was seating them (he had not said that to the couple he seated behind me). I came to the ultimate conclusion that he treats customers based on his initial personal feelings about them. And after all the drama, my meal was decent but not great, and a small portion for €14. After yet another poor experience at a restaurant with mostly stupendous reviews on here, I guess I should give up on trying trendy restaurants.

Cons: Terrible service , Food was all right, not great , Small portion for price

This was exactly the vibe we received here too! This place seems totally overhyped. Hope you found nicer places to go in the city

We had the same experience, and the servers made a mistake which would make us pay a dessert we didn't order. They were very cold and not friendly at all with us while being very gentle with other people.

Best food in the city

We spent two night in Rome and found ourselves at Rifugio Romano both nights. I had been hoping to get fresh vegan pasta during our trip and this place had so much on offer, alongside pizzas and many other options. The online menu was very detailed (and extensive!) it was hard to decide on what to have each night. During my first visit I got the carbonara, and I will be thinking about it for a long time to come. Absolutely delicious - please make sure you go here, but book in advance as it did get quite busy

Pros: So much choice!, Fresh food, Nice staff :)

Cons: Small location

So good - we went there twice!

August 2024 - This is a super casual, family run, friendly dining experience. Tightly packed tables with some outdoor tables. Go with friends, family but don’t expect a quiet romantic dinner.
Anyways, the food is awesome! They have full vegan only food plus a decent selection of wines (regular and vegan). My friend and I loved it so much. We ate there twice during our five days in Rome.
The staff are super friendly, speak English and they hustle hard. It’s a fun vibrant restaurant with delicious tasting food!
We looked for the menu online beforehand and couldn’t find it… However, when we got to the restaurant the menu was done through a QR code and easy to see photos of every item including explanations.
The location was an easy walk from Termini or Republica. Anyways, please go - you will love it.

Pros: Good descriptions and photos of the menu items, Nice wine! (Not vegan ones for me), Accommodating and friendly, if you just walk in.

Cons: Couldn’t find the menu online beforehand, Very busy. Hard to get reservations.

🆗

cannelloni e tagliata super buoni, il sofficino dentro era freddo quasi congelato e i moscardini un po’ di gomma quindi io direi di non scegliere i fritti ero delusissima ma primo e secondo mi hanno risollevato il morale tutto 🆗

All vegan restaurant in Rome!

We had dinner here with my friends. The restaurant seemed very popular and luckily we had reserved a table from there.
Everything that we ate was tasty. Especially tiramisu was great. Service wasn’t too friendly and we waited quite a while. I loved that everything was vegan!

Awesome Italian food

Best dinner I had in Rome! 🌱 I had vegan cannelloni and a fresh, colorful salad. They offer a lot of different traditional Italian dishes. Absolutely worth it!

An amazing meal

This was one of my favourite meals in Rome. The Cacio e Pepe was delicious, as was the Romana style chicken. My partner and I also shared a pizza - the vegan meat wasn't my favourite but the cheese was really yummy. Nice arancini too. As a sweet tooth the highlight for me was the Nutella panna cotta - I've never tasted something so close to Nutella before! We also shared the tiramisu which was yummy as well. 5/5 would recommend!

Cucina romana in chiave vegan

Tutto troppo buono😍😋

I'd die for their crepes

My partner and I had a nice dinner in this super cute restaurant, very close to the city centre. Food was awesome, staff were awesome, everything was fresh and great! They had some super unique dishes on the menu, including zucchini flower pesto lasagne, and several types of bruschetta.

Pros: Amazing food, Fully vegan menu, Convenient location

Cons: A little bit loud

Tradition in vegana

We had the the deepfried oyster mushrooms and arancini. Because the chef was on break we opted for the lasagna, the cannelloni as well as the tiramisu for our dessert. All of the food was delicious and we especially recommend the oyster mushrooms!

This experience was so beyond!

Each meal/course felt rich, creative and tasted as amazingly as it was plated. We ate the protein with mushrooms, a lovely pasta dish, the arancini, and delighted in the desserts. The pana cotta is...wow.

Amazing

Really polite, friendly staff. The food was amazing and not badly priced! Had the aranchini, which was okay but nothing special. The carbonara was incredibly tasty and I really enjoyed it! My mum (a non-vegan) went with the cannelloni which was nice but for me quite simple. I had the cherry pana cotta which was amazing! It was so Light and refreshing and the flavour was perfect! We had a couple of citrus cocktail drinks which were very lovely too. It was fantastic to have such a lovely place woth so many amazing vegan options! The only problem was choosing what to have!!

Pros: Choice, Flavour and quality, Friendly staff

The Best Vegan Restaurant in Rome

I’ve eaten here a few times now and it never disappoints.
The last time we visited as a group of 12 and pre organised/booked and they were prepared with a ton of starters for us and then we ordered mains and deserts on the spot. Everyone was very very happy with the service and the food. Can’t wait to visit again!

Pros: Delicious food , Fun atmosphere

What Else Can I Say?

This place is beyond popular and has been reviewed to high heaven, so what more can I really say? It’s bloody brilliant. That’s all there is to it. Go there, enjoy it, revel in its vegan goodness and, whatever you do, don’t skip on the desserts.

Best Vegan Italian Food You Can Find

I came here for my 1 year anniversary and was blown away. They have perfected the recreation of every authentic Italian dish you could ever need.
Portion sizes are generous, taste is delicious and prices are fair. One of the best nights of eating I have ever had.

I returned 5 years later for another meal

Phenomenal, some of the best food I’ve had. Such a treat for vegans traveling in Rome, you’ll finally get a chance to eat the classic Italian dishes everyone else comes to Rome for. I first came here in 2019 and had been thinking about my delicious meal for years. I came back in 2024 with a friend group. We didn’t have a reservation but the waiter literally set up a table for us outside to accommodate us. If you are vegan, you have to come here!

Pros: Delicious, authentic food, Great service, very accommodating , Staff is proficient in English
