Incredible food, bad service

Edit after a total three visits: definitely not going back. Huge shame.

The first time we went for lunch – and it was wonderful: very friendly and helpful service, delicious food; no problems whatsoever. Absolutely delightful!

The second time, we had dinner there: The waiter tried to be helpful, but the ordering process was confusing (it was not a language problem!), and although we had said SEVERAL times very clearly that we did not eat cheese, milk, butter, eggs etc., there was yoghurt in the ful AND they brought out a salad with grated cheese on top. To be clear, there is NO mention of cheese in the menu: It says the salad contains: rucola/rocket/arugula, tomato, onions, tahini, walnuts. But there was zero tahini in the salad and, instead, mystery cheese...?! The waiter apologised and offered to remove it.

Third time: dinner again. We very VERY clear about not wanting dairy AND about wanting to try something new. Nevertheless, they ended up bringing the SAME salad, and again with the surprise cheese on top. When we asked the waitress, she too apologised and offered to remove it, replying "the cheese is just for decoration!". But she didn't seem to see the issue and simply shrugged it off saying that the printed menus were old and needed to be changed. When asked about the missing tahini, she said that tahini simply means "sauce" and in this case lemon and olive oil dressing, i.e. nothing to do with sesame seeds...? Come on, just admit that you don't know, or at least go and ask the kitchen staff.

There are several different rice options: mandi, kabsa and biryani. Having ordered biryani (the "old" menu weirdly says that it contains milk...) on our second visit, we stressed that we wanted something different for our third time there. The waitress, upon seeing a photo, said that the previous time we had probably been given kabsa by mistake, so she had us order biryani. It turned out to be the exact same dish as the 2nd time. When we asked about it, her explanations were odd and contradictory; you could tell she had no clear idea what she was talking about. And again, it was NOT a language issue.

All in all not a MASSIVE problem, but it was wholly unnecessary and pretty frustrating, and the justifications just felt a bit confused and dishonest. Why not simply say "I don't know, let me check"? The food itself is great, and maybe if you order EVERY SINGLE ITEM explicitly with no surprise pop-up dairy, you might get a delicious meal – with a bit of luck!

Pros: Excellent food (the stuff that's ACTUALLY vegan)

Cons: Dairy ingredients NOT labelled in the menu!, Always double-check when ordering, SOME waiters seem confused about the ingredients..
