Were we trolled? 👹

My boyfriend and I ordered what was recommended in the reviews here. The veggie pasta and fajitas. I also asked the waiter to keep the dairy out because we’re both vegan. The waiter said, “okay” and then came back with a serious face 10 seconds later and asked my boyfriend, “you said you wanted the ribs, right?” My boyfriend politely smiled and told him again, “the veggie fajitas.” I’m not sure if he was trolling us but it was very odd to me because we specifically said veggies - no dairy - and vegan. Super clear.

The food was okay! Not bad and not great.

The live music was cute and the musicians even sang my boyfriend happy birthday. Rating them 3 stars for that.

Wish Sanibel had better vegan options.

Love it!

This restaurant probably has the most vegan options on captiva island. While the options are mostly vegetarian, they’re very accommodating. Good food and a cute atmosphere.

Pros: Good options , Very accommodating , Cute place

very tasty!

We loved our dinner at RC otters! A few vegan items, ranging from veggie fajitas to veggie linguine with marinara. Service was amazing & there is often live music!

decent because it has to be

We checked out a few menus on Captiva, and this was the best for the area. I ordered the veggie fajitas made vegan without cheese and sour cream, and added black beans, which was an upcharge. It was pretty generic, but with the lettuce, tomatoes, and vegetables, the meal was filling. The service was great, and there was live music for lunch. An overall great experience, albeit very expensive for a mediocre meal. There are no better options though, and the rating would be 2.5 stars elsewhere.

Pros: excellent service & atmosphere, vegan black beans for protein, live music at lunch

Cons: mediocre vegan options, mediocre quality

Good food, cozy island bar.

Stopped here for dinner. They have several vegetarian options that can be made vegan. My dinner was very good, and the service was great. Definitely recommend it.

Pretty good option in a place with few options.

Ate here a couple times in April 2015. The food was pretty good. Especially liked the sweet potato fries. The linguini marinara seemed a little bland, but certainly decent. The veggie wrap was better the second time around when I specifically asked for the portabella mushrooms to be included, even though they are apparently cooked in a little bit of butter. The ambience is also interesting, and kind of fun, especially if you like sitting outdoors. Some indoor seating is also available. Lots of interesting decorations. Live music performances (outdoors) most nights I believe.

Pros: Fun ambience with live music, Indoor or outdoor seating, Some good veggie options.

Cons: Outdoors can be hot, rainy, etc., Most menu items include meat., Not the greatest veggie options..
