Raw Balance - Edit
A nice little shop with a great selection of different vegan dishes. There was a burger, a daily special, several salads and raw cakes. We thought it was very tasty and the portions were really good for the price.

Fresh, healthy excellent find in an area otherwise difficult for good vegan options - Edit
Excellent vegan food for an area without many good vegan options otherwise.
Read moreHad the massive Tasting Platter, which features all of the inspired, fresh, health and tasty vegan salads, plus a large serving of the daily hot dish.
After the main, had a superb mocha smoothie, which was one of the best smoothies I’ve ever had: strong cacao, strong coffee, blended with bananas.
The owners were friendly and inspirational to chat to.
Could not recommend this place highly enough.
Pros: Extremely fresh food, Inspired owners

Great vegan cafe - Edit
Best vegan cafe in the area by a country mile.
Read moreFantastic range of plant based cakes, really lovely salads and a vegan burger on the menu.
Also amazing coffee and lovely hosts in Robert and Monika. Definitely worth a visit.
So good to see them spreading the good food message in the heart of hunting and fishing country.

Great full vegan place - Edit
A bit hidden but worth the search. Amazing salad (bar). Tried 3 of those, but skipped the Curry/rice which looked good as well :)

Best dahl and rice in NZ - Edit
My life was complete with Monika's dahl and rice. Two sizes, opted ambitiously for the larger one. I had no qualms eating the remainder for my dinner. Very generous portions. Super friendly couple. Wish I could have returned to try their other yummy looking salads and dishes but I was just passing through the area. Hot and cold options, all nourishing and healthy which was a nice change from the vegan "junk food" that does seem to dominate the vegan scene in NZ (especially away from the main cities). 100% recommend.

Run, don't walk - Edit
Hello! Visiting from Australia and stumbled across (the deceptively named) Raw Balance in Turangi where I've had lunch for the last 2 days and it is some of the best food I've ever had, hands down, vegan or pre! Initially I thought it was just raw food and I was craving something warm so almost disregarded them but popped in and was delighted with the mung bean dahl, rice and roast vege combo. Followed up with a raspberry bounty and took home a peanut butter slice for dessert. Couldn't resist going back the next day for the peanut chickpea curry combo and chased that with a piece of espresso slice. Aotearoa, you do food very, very well 👌

Nourishing food - Edit
We visited Raw Balance late morning and were pleasantly surprised. While the place itself is nothing fancy, there is a good range of food and drink options. We ordered coffees and wraps (falafel and seitan) to takeaway but sat at the picnic table out in the mini golf area next door. The seitan was made by the owners sister (she runs Tea & Happiness in Rotorua) and it was EPIC! The falafel was made in-house and was equally delicious. The oat milk coffees were also spot on. In the cabinet there were raw slices and raw savoury meals like chilli and quinoa salad. The owner(s) were lovely to chat to. Would definitely recommend.
