Read moreI took the free shuttle from the I-site in the city centre and after my visit went to their cafe. I was surprised by how good their menu was. Vegan options on both the regular and specials menu. The food tasted so good: fresh ingredients, full of flavour and such a good price.
I ordered apple crumble from the specials menu (not vegan) and what I got could have been served in a gourmet restaurant- it was only $7! The vegan Pom Pom’s were delicious.
If I was not leaving wellington the next day I would have gone back again.

Mushroom hashbrown meal - Edit
Some good options here. Cabinet had a marinated tofu sandwich and a portobello sandwich. On the menu was balsamic Mushroom spinach and hasbrowns. Nice place.

For a burger costing well over ten dollars (and closer to twenty) I was unimpressed. It was virtually cold and the pattie itself was dry.
Read moreGranted, the place was packed and super busy, so I get that they must have been rushed.
The service was okay as there are plenty of wait staff. But the place is probably more relaxing and comfy on a quieter day during the week when it's not so noisy, and you can find a seat next to the windows for the view of the greenery outside.
Pros: Nice walk outside afterwards., Hot chocolate was okay.
Cons: Inattention to detail when too busy - ?

Really pleased with the quick service here after a walk around Zealandia with friends on the weekend. Good food serves fast which was well needed.

I went here after spending a few hours exploring Zealandia. Heaps of vegan options on the menu. I got a Vegan Buddha Bowl which was absolutely delicious!

New winter menu is very vege friendly - Edit
Rata have updated their menu for winter with lots of vege options. We had vege burger and vege quesadilla, both of which were yummy. The new chef seems to understand vegetarian cooking. The cafe now has full table service too.
