"Upscale" vegan buffet

I'm updating my previous review to confirm Dharma buffet is still open.

This place is more clean, and the food is more healthy compared to average "jay" restaurant in Thailand. Lots of local options to try, like Chiang Mai-style jackfruit curry, nam prik Ong (tomato and tofu relish) and winged bean salad.

Brown rice with 4 toppings is 50 baht, great value. Perhaps rice portion is a bit small to fill up a big guy.

Sad to hear about previous reviewer's experience. I've found plenty of dishes with little or no fake meats, and it's certainly not "100x oily" on my scale.

Pros: Clean, Healthy, Cheap

Cons: Traffic and noise on the main road, A bit far from city center if not using shortcuts

Heavy on the fake meats and oil

I came for a big lunch, first having snacks (sausage, deep-fried bean curd (?) on a stick, and pre-packed steamed dumplings reminiscent of siu mai). All seemed to made with some type of soy protein, and of course were cold and not freshly crisp, but they were still tasty. The dumplings were definitely my fave, the deep-fried thing was oooozing with oil and now I feel like I’m on the onset of a heart attack, but it was tasty!

I then had two Bain-Marie options without rice, which were of course cold as well, and tbh weren’t amazing. If you love your fake meats though, you’ll sure be happy! As among the veg it was loaded with all different type of fake meats. Disappointingly, I have to disagree with some past reviewers re: healthy and low-oil, my plate had a WAVE pool of oil flowin about by the time I was done.

Perhaps it was the two dishes I chose though (veggies with ginger, and glass noodles), but I imagine others are much the same. If I was feeling like hot noodle soup this would be the place to try it though!

Pros: Pretty nice place, Interesting and different snacks

Cons: Oily x 100

very nice vegan restaurant

the restaurant is a Thai style vegan restaurant (precooked food displayed in bain marie) that sells cleap, delicious vegan food and orher packaged goods ... I had rice and 2 food choices ฿40) that were really nice ... the resturant is on a corner of a busy road but there is lots of indoor seating away from the road noise ... its a cool and clean resturant with friendly staff who speak basic English

Pros: cheap vegan food

Tricky to spot, worth the journey

If you've got a bike or scooter, it takes 5 minutes or so from the north-central gate. I almost missed the sign. Keep your eyes up. Went at 2:45pm so the lunch stuff wasn't as fresh as it could've been. That said, really delicious, nutritious stuff. Cheap (local) prices too. I forget what exactly I had because we just pointed at stuff and shared our plates. About 75b per person. TONS of vegan snacks, etc. The "chlorophyl" juice tasted seriously healthy.

Pros: Tasty, Cheap, Local

Cons: Gotta find it

I concur

50 Baht will get you a hefty plate of tasty food. There are also plenty of vegan snacks to go. This place is a winner.

Cheap and delicious

This is one of my favorite vegetarian restaurant. It's very localized, spacious, and clean. There's quite a lot of toppings you can choose from (buffet style) to pair with your brown rice. I especially love their stew pumpkin. 2 toppings for 35 baht, super cheap, you can also but it as to-go. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Pros: Great food, cheap price, spacious and clean

Cons: can be busy during lunch time, located in high traffic area

Traditional Thai Buddhist

Easy to find on the main road, buffet style restaurant with just a few selections. Food is made early and left in pans. Hot noodles and prepacked take away available. Not a fancy place but gives you the sense of Buddhist food in the local style. However, better examples can be found around Wat Phra Singh.

Pros: Authentic , Clean , Inexpensive

Cons: Limited Choices , Not in a Main Area

Vegan Kao Soi

Have been there, the place is easy to spot. It's really low-key and down-to-earth, very Thai place with a calm music playing, free water and very low prices. They serve vegan Kao Soi there!

Pros: Kao Soi, Cheap, Free water
