Delicious ramen - Edit
Clearly marked vegan items and option for vegan noodles. The creamy ramen with vegan noodles are delicious!

It was ok - Edit
Definitely not the best ramen I’ve had, but it wasn’t terrible. The ramen was pretty bland, and there wasn’t enough broth for all the noodles, bamboo shoots, etc. that they put in. I got the veggie shio ramen, so maybe that one just isn’t as flavorful as the others. The vegan spam roll was pretty good.

Excellent - Edit
Many vegan options… I had some kind of ramen with soy milk that was delicious. Wish I had discovered this place sooner when I visited Baltimore and could have gone more than once!

So many vegan options! Great food, great service. Best ramen we’ve had in the US (including before transitioning to veganism)

Good Vibe- Food to match - Edit
Tons of options to choose from whether you’re seeking sushi or ramen.
Read moreWe tried and highly recommend the miso soup (best flavored miso soup we’ve tried with tons of scallions and tofu), sweet potato sushi, avocado roll. Edamame was good. Hot tea also a plus.
Everyone seemed to be eating ramen and it looked yummy but we went specifically for sushi. Would return again.
Nice vibe inside the restaurant with plenty of seating but busy on a Wednesday night

Decent ramen - Edit
I had the ginger miso ramen with tofu which was alright. It could have used some more flavor, especially the tofu which was uncooked/unseasoned hunks. We also had the sweet potato roll which wasn't the best. Make sure to ask for the vegan noodles in the ramen and specify no egg. The restaurant doesn't allow for swapping ingredients so you can't replace the egg but you can pay for more veggies

Easy to modify vegan - Edit
Ramen Utsuke is super vegan friendly. They have clear, miso, soy based, and spicy broths. Most places only have 1 or 2 style options, but they have 5-6! You have to ask for the vegan noodle option as their regular ramen noodles have egg. It’s a 50 cent up charge for vegan noodles. Also ask for no hard boiled egg if the option you want comes with that! My favorite style is the spicy miso add wood ear mushrooms. The portion sizes are very good! Have been here many times and will keep coming back.

Best Ramen Restaurant In The DMV! - Edit
I have been to Ramen Utsuke DOZENS of times and I’m never disappointed! Out of all of the ramen restaurants I’ve been to, this one by far as the most options for vegans ! You have a good 5-6 different vegan Ramen options to choose from on top of there being other vegan entres and appetizers! One of my favorite restaurants!

Delicious vegan ramen options! - Edit
When creating your vegan ramen bowl, you can choose their vegetable broth, vegan noodles, /- tofu, and hold the egg. I got the spicy miso ramen with vegan noodles and tofu and it was SO delicious! Even my non-vegan partner loved it and finished off my bowl! It was perfectly spicy and salty and savory…and the charred cabbage (one of the included veggies) adds such a great flavor. Also super close to the Inner Harbor, so a great option when you’re in that area. Also very reasonably priced.

They speak vegan at this buzzy ramen spot - Edit
We really enjoyed our meal at this buzzy ramen place, located at street level of the very swanky 414 Light Street building. There were both communal tables filled with chatty twenty-somethings as well as nicely sized booths and tables with families and couples. The waiter was very well-versed in the vegan options. For a starter, we enjoyed the Sweet Potato Roll - magnificently topped with a crown of tempura green beans - and the avocado roll, both very well executed. Next , we had some gyoza and the veg curry rice - gyoza were really nicely browned and noodly, the curry was tasty but not high on the veg content if you are looking for that. The star of the show was the ramen - really, really good. The vegetable ramen broth showed a depth of flavor that made it obvious that it was thought through and not an afterthought. The miso veg broth was just spicy enough to be fun without being overwhelming. Both were enjoyed with vegan noodles. Also, don't forget to ask for parking validation if you parked in the 414 Light St. garage - would have cost us $24 for our 1.5 hour visit, with validation it was only $5. This place is a really nice option in the Inner Harbor area, which is getting better for vegan options but still not overflowing with them.
