Amazing!!!!! I fell in love with Djerba

Stunning hotel on the island Djerba, Tunisia. Wonderful friendly service. I stayed here for a week and the staff really did there maximum to accommodate us.

Djerba is the biggest island in North Africa and unlike Morocco is hasn't been commercialised, you won't find a Mcdonald's or any big chain shops here. Just stunning beaches with aqua water, palm trees. The only commercial thing on the island is the hotels, which they are few of. I fell in love with this island and the friendly local people.

At the Radison Palace Hotel there are 3 restaurants an Italian, a traditional restaurant (my personal favourite) and an Asian inspired outside restaurant close to the sea. There is also a large buffet with lots of different options, traditional, freshly made pizza and lots of salads and cooked food. You can also have room service 24/7.

I almost never eat breakfast so had lunch and dinner here. I loved the traditional restaurant called Flamingo, its inside only. We had the vegetable tagine which was spiced with large cinnamon sticks, they also made a special cous cous for us (this needs to be ordered in advance at least 90 mins before). It was so delicious, the sauce was perfect. Some evenings they have musicians playing traditional music as well which I adored.

The homemade smoked harissa was out of this world, they used olive oil with it to have as a dip with the freshly baked bread.

The Italian restaurant has a large inside and outdoor seating. The base of the pizza is vegan, we asked for a large pizza with lots of freshly crushed garlic or choose a pizza with tomato sauce and lots of veggies.

The olives and olive oil are particularly great here as they grown on the island. We ate a lot of them during the stay:)

The Asian restaurant has one vegan dish a wok with very thin rice noodles cooked in soy suace and has both cooked and raw veggies and grated ginger - it was really nice.

The buffet was also great, lots of choice as well and has large seating areas both inside and out.

At the outside bar area I tried the raw almonds in rose water, they were delicious and a local speciality.

The hotel is just in front of the beach and the weather in Djerba is almost always sunny.

A great island to visit, very historical they even have a pink flamingo island during certain seasons that can be visited.

A great trip and I can't wait to go back as we fell in love with this unspoilt island in the sun.

Pros: good choice, Great for families, Amazing service

Cons: None, go there now!
