Second location in Ekaterinburg. A cafe with a buffet of about 10 warm dishes plus some salads and two soups. Only has a few vegan options (a single main dish and vegetable soup). Some staff speak English well and can help point out vegan items and ones that can be made vegan. Also has a shop selling vegetable milk, oatmeal drinks, vegan sausages, tofu, etc. Russian street address: ул. Вайнера, 8, Галерея "Красный леопард", 2 этаж. Walk in through a red entrance to the Red Leopard mall and the restaurant is directly up the stairs to your left. Open Mon-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm.

veg canteen - Edit
to those familiar with Jagannath in Moscow — Rada is quite similar. it’s a vegetarian canteen-like cafe. if you’re looking for a cheap, fast and hearty meal, that’s the place for it.
Read moreI didn’t enjoy it as much as Jagannath, though.
when I was there last, they gave me a discount because I posted a picture of the place on Instagram. it was nice.

Best vegan Restaurants in the city - Edit
While we stayed in Jekaterinburg we were four times in the first and one time in this restaurant. The many vegan dishes are delicious and the stuff is really friendly. Not alle of them speak English, but the word for vegan is the same in Russian and you can just point with your finger at the buffet. The price is ok, but after 8pm it’s a lot cheaper. The restaurant is very central and easy to find. The meals are mainly not warm enough but you can use the microwave next to the buffet.

Not Bad! - Edit
The prices are quite okay, the stuff is always nice and friendly, some of the desserts are really tasty and there are some healthy options.
Read moreATTENTION (for vegans): Many of the vegan labeled dishes contain honey "Med". Double check!
My personal favorite is the raw lavender cake.
Pros: affordable , friendly stuff
Cons: mislabelling

Decent food in Yekaterinburg - Edit
A good option for a vegetarian/vegan meal in Yekaterinburg. Everything that’s vegan is labeled, which is very convenient. The dishes are not really hot when you get them and the taste is decent, but not the best ever. Although the cakes are delicious.
Read moreI would still recommend eating there.
Pros: A lot of options, Delicious cakes
Cons: Food is quite cold, Dishes could be more special

Hit or miss, but what are other options? - Edit
Yekaterinburg is a beautiful city. Unfortunately, however, it has very few (and dwindling, considering the closure of VegBurger last December) vegan/vegetarian options to choose from. This is one such option.
Read moreLogistically, it greatly reminds me of Moscow's Jagannath chain. You pick up a tray and cutlery, then you slide the tray past an array of different food options choosing whatever your heart desires. Then you pay for it and - bingo! - you have a trayful of meat-free goodness.
There is a catch, however. Which is, their food is hit or miss. Some things they make are great (vegan chebureks, I'm drooling at you!), some are bland, and some are just plain... weird. Like a vegan pizza made with sweet dough kinda weird. Or a falafel made from something which is distinctly NOT garbanzo beans weird.
Ultimately, it IS a decent and friendly veg spot. Just don't set your expectations TOO high.

Excellent and open on Sunday too! - Edit
I had a delicious ratatouille and something they assured me was a Russian favourite - something, something, cabbage, cabbage. And a little piece of pie too.
Read moreI bought a big - like 15cm big - vegan salami from the vegetarian shop next door and I'm going to whip that out on the next train ride and cut me a big old slice. Impressive! There's heaps of great stuff in the shop, too, from tofu oddities to Indian pickles (!).
Definitely a favourite for me in Russia too, though, that's coming from the East so who knows what the rest holds.
Pros: Great taste - well herbed and salted. , Price., Really sweet attendants.

Vegan in Ekaterinburg - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised here! A very decent selection of food, hot and cold. They also had a vegan Salat Olivier, a must-try everyone's favourite Russian salad! I've never tried this version (with vegan "meat") and it was easily the best vegan Olivier I've ever had! The cabbage stew was delicious too.

Best place in Russia I've been - Edit
Really the best vegeterian restaurant I've been so far in Russia. Offers wide range of food from Indian to Russian. Nice location in the center of the city. Prices are cheap and there are business lunch offers which makes it even more affordable and best choise of the city. We ordered in Russian so I don't know if English is spoken. Nevertheless it is easy to choose because restaurant works like stakovaya, you pick what you want by pointing in a desk. Totally worth going and not only once - there was a problem to choose because all the dishes looked delicious.

Rada nice grub! - Edit
My favourite vego place in Russia so far.
Read moreAs of April 2015, they have many vegan dishes, soups, mains, sides, breads, desserts, and all clearly labelled with a green vegan sticker - very helpful for non Russian speakers. The staff spoke some English also, and in general were very lovely!
Most importantly though, all the food I tried was delicious. My girlfriend and me had almost all of the vegan options over two visits. We had two big feasts which were super cheap and left extremely happy and full both times. This is a must visit if in Yekaterinburg!
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, Adjoined veg/health food store, Brilliant value
