Serves meat, vegan options available. Busy pub in the middle of Hawkshead. Vegan dishes include Thai red curry made with tofu, a wild mushroom and artichoke pizza with vegan cheese, garlic bread with vegan garlic butter or vegan cheese, a mezze sharing board and a hot autumnal salad made with vegan halloumi. All side dishes are vegan. For dessert, dishes include chocolate chip and orange pudding, apple and strawberry crumble as well as vegan ice cream and sorbets. Plant milks are available for hot drinks. Open Mon-Sat 12:00-15:00, Mon-Sun 18:00-20:30, Sun 12:00-16:00.

Outstanding restaurant

Lovely old pub that has a rustic vibe.
Friendly staff that were able to advise me on the tastiest options, which was the mushroom ravioli.
The mushroom ravioli was honestly one of the best tasting meals that I have had in a long time. Seasoned to perfection! I cannot wait to try some of the other vegan options on the menu.
Reasonable price for the quality of food and will definitely be returning.
I strongly recommend reserving a table as it is a popular restaurant.

Good vegan pizza

Could only see one option on the menu and it was pizza with local Grizedale vegan cheese. Luckily, I was fancying pizza and it was delicious! The vegan cheese was also very good.

Pros: Nice pizza

Cons: Limited options, No desserts for vegans

Nice Pub

Vegan food is understandably sparse in Hawkshead, happy to find somewhere with options. Friendly staff, separate allergy menu but a lot of it was gluten free or just vegetarian. 2 choices as far as I could see and I had the pizza, which exceeded my expectations.

Pros: Tasty pizza

Cons: More options would be good

Great food

Really nice food and staff are really knowledgable and even knew which wines were vegan. Had a really tasty pizza with lots of vegan cheese.

Cons: Pricey but it is Hawkshead.
