I wish I had known before they closed down that their former neighbour, Addis Abeba, was all vegan. Not sure how I missed that. Anyway, Queen of Sheba has an excellent vegan injera platter. Some of the photos here made all their wats look mushy beige and brown but as you can see from this picture, we got lots of fresh, delicious variety on our platter. It included a few dishes that were a bit out of the ordinary as well, such as eggplant in a creamy peanut butter sauce. The space is warm and relaxed, the service is friendly and the food was honestly some of the best Ethiopian I've ever had. The owner also makes her own delicious fermented turmeric drink, kinda like a bootleg hard kombucha.
We used to go to Addis Abeba a few doors down from time to time, and Queen of Sheba is a great replacement for it. Sadly not vegan like its ex-neighbour but their vegan dishes are very tasty. The owner is very friendly as well and receptive to any feedback about her food.

Not a great replacement sadly because they profit from animal abuse.

Great Variety of Vegan Options - Edit
Queen of Sheba was the first place I went to after their neighbor the vegan restaurant Addis Abeba closed permanently due to the ongoing lockdowns.
Read moreI was happy to find that the owners were close with one another and that the vegan options here are now quite extensive (and delicious).
Pros: Great food, Welcoming owner and staff, Solid variety
