I love this place

Got to be the best mock meat I've tried in Vietnam so far. They give you a big platter of rice, vegetables, a soup, and amazing soy protein - all so cheap. It comes fast and warm.
The owner is really nice, and the staff work hard.
I love the banh bao too. Soft bun with vegan filling and a slightly sweet taste.

Hoi An famous

Co Dam is Hoi An famous! It's a small restaurant on a side street, so you kinda have to know about it in order to find it. Traveling vegans from all countries come here for fresh, delicious, home cooked vegan food, made with love. You want to come when there is the most variety to get a proper plate. Just before lunch or dinner times typically have the most variety. Lots of greens! They also introduce new items often, most recently eggplant. The plate costs varies depending on how much or what you want to put on your plate, 20,000-40,000 VND. This place is so great, I often come here twice a day.

Authentic and cheap

Probably as close as you can get to ‘local’ prices, and the place was filled with people. Tasty food, all vegan. Even do little hamburgers.

Great affordable place in the Old Quarter

Buffet style - you point at stuff you want on your plate. We paid 30-40K for a big plate incl. abit of almost everything... The choice is rather big - up to 20 items incl. variety of noodles (my favourite were the yellowish one with curry & lemongrass flavour), variety of mock meat (mostly soy protein meat prepared like fish, chicken, sweet&sour...), different kinds of steamed vegetables, Chinese steamed buns etc.. They also give you a little bowl of clear broth with your meal.

They also offer soups, we didn't try :)

Pros: * lots of options * great price * nice family atmo

Cons: * the food is prepared upfront = not very warm

Cheap and friendly local cafe

This place is very authentic. It's a small cafe, using the front of the owners house. The food is the cheapest in Hoi An. A lot of mock meats and everything is vegan, it's a buffet where you point to what you want and they add it to your plate (price is usually 20k - 30k). One of the older men that works there chatted to us and told us he has been vegan for 20 years and all the workers are also vegan. Very friendly and down to earth place with a small friendly dog too.

Pros: Friendly, All vegan, Very cheap

Cons: Food is often not hot (except the rice), Very oily and unhealthy

Great portions, so much choice.

Ordered 2 rice buffet meals and asked them to pick a selection from the many buffet dishes available. Delicious mock meats, tofu and a very good variety of veggies. Also tried the hamburgers And the buns, the buns in particular were incredible.

It was lovely to see them making the buns and spring rolls first hand. 👌

Just a note if you order larger mock meats with the rice meal they will charge you slightly more. One meal cost 25k the other 40k.

Pros: Lots of choice Good size portions No msg Reasonabl

Cons: Unsure how they price the buffet

Very nice small restaurant with great food

Excellent choice for Vegan food if you’re in Hoi An. We ate here a few times: rice with a selection of vegetables and some variations of Mock meat. They even have a mini hamburger which our kids really liked. My favorite however was the vegetarian Pho: yummy noodles, a very tasty broth and some condiments and fresh herbs.
Excellent value for money. For the four of us we paid on average 80k for lunch/dinner.
Highly recommended !

Cheap eat in Hoi An

We ate here 3 times as we were trying to save some money. You get quite a lot of food for what you pay - you get given a plate of rice and you can choose from a selection of around 15 pre-made dishes including a few mock meat items priced around 5000 per item. Apart from the rice, all of it is ambient temperature including the soup that you get with the meal so it doesn’t feel the freshest (hence the 4 stars) but it is cheap and it is darn tasty.

Cheap and less choice

They had a menu but they only had 2 dishes. We ordered them both. A noodle soup and a pho with tofu. Not so tasty and a bit cold. There where many locals, all eating the same. We only had to pay 40k for the two dishes together.

Pros: Very cheap

Cons: Not so tasty and only two choices

Amazing value in centre of town !!

We had the Pho and the bun bao and both were top notch & unbeatable value esp in Hoi An :))) don't expect amazing service or ambience but of course this is expected for the price. Great lunch spot

Honest and cheap, most recommended

I ordered Quang noodle (best one, 15k dongs), Pho noodle soup (number two, 15k dongs) and Chao Lau special (not recommended, nothing special compared to the other two, 15k dongs), as well as Banh Bao (they are delicious, 8k dongs a piece). The buffet contains a selection of foods, probably 20k for a plate. Small selection of drinks, no beer. Non-smoking throughout. Generally for the price you won't get anything tastier in Hoi an. The staff doesn't speak English, the menu has no pricing (they let me write prices in pen, not sure how long this will last;)), so be a little patient. Honest food, though needs some extra spicing at the table (sauces, limes and chilli are all there). If you're on a budget then you won't be disappointed!

Pros: Cheap, large portions, fresh and tasty

Cons: Hard to find, Cow's location isn't accurate (yet?)

Best food

Go there early (12pm) and there is a big buffet selection to choose from. Lots of veggies, noodles, tofu and fake meats. I had a plate without fake meats, just rice, noodles, and lots of veggies, and it cost 20K. Try the steamed buns!! Best ever!

Best veg food in Hoi An

By far the best veggie meal I've had in Hoi An. And you can't beat the price either (~1 USD). I had delicious banh bao (steamed bun) and Cao Lau (Hoi An specialty). Don't miss this spot!

Worth seeking out

If you don't know where you're going, it could be a little bit tricky to locate. Head down the alley between 69 & 71; you'll eventually spot it on your right.
It's a straightforward buffet: rice with a mix of vegetable, tofu & mock meat dishes (with other options available a la carte). The exact options vary day-to-day, and the price seems to depend on what you choose (from roughly 15-30vnd, or 1-2usd).
Not much English here, but lots of smiles & chatting across languages.

good, cheap food

It's a little tricky to find this place at the end of a small alley, but the all-vegan food there is unbeatably cheap and definitely worth searching for it. Both the pho and the "special local" dish were delicious and just 15.000vnd each. Paired with a large dumpling, we only paid 38.000vnd total, so less than 2$ for everything! Serves all the basics of a Vietnamese local kitchen. Definitely will go back again soon!

Pros: friendly staff, tasty food, low prices

Cons: address difficult to find

Cheap, fast, good

The headline says it all! You get a plate of mixed delicious vegan food choices (vegetables/mock meat) with rice and a soup for 30.000 VND.
The staff is a bit harsh but this restaurant concept is not about becoming friends with each other I guess.

Good place for a cheap lunch

A good place for a delicious lunch at low cost. I enjoyed the variety of the different dishes. You will even get a soup and some water/tea for free. If you had enough of the fancy tourist places that's the place to eat. I are here many times.

Cheap and cheerful

Great value for money as £1 a plate depending on how much mock meat you have. The food was all cold and the lady didn't let us help ourselves to the buffet she served us with just a little of each item so I asked to serve myself which she agreed to

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cold

Overcharging with a smile

This is a buffet style vegetarian with a good selection of mock meats and veg. It's a cheapie so don't expect anything amazing. The food is always pretty cold but you get a good sized plate and lots of tastes to try.
We stopped going after it became progressively more expensive each time they saw us. The first time it was 20,000 VND, then it became 25,000 and then 30,000. We ordered a really small portion the third time as we came for a snack. They over charged us all the same.
Still, this place is a good option in a town where it's hard to find good vegetarian food.

Pros: local prices at first, good selection , open all hours of the day

Cons: over charging, all the hot food is cold

Lots of food!

40,000 vnd and was completely stuffed. I got everything but you can chose what you want. I would pick less of the fake meat options and get more of the veggies next time. My stomach hurt a little afterwards, so maybe I ate too much or ate too much fake meat. Anyways, such a good option if you are vegan and hungry and you want to navigate the crowded city center!

Good Food and Reasonably Priced

I found the restaurant after some effort; it is a ways down the alley off the street address. The food was good and reasonable, ready to eat buffet. The communication wasn't easy. I would return.

Pros: Good Food, Several Choice at Buffet, Reasonably Priced and Very Clean, Ready to Eat Buffet

Cons: Tricky to Find
