Vegan but still not healthy - Edit
I appreciate the fully vegan menu but most options were what I would characterize as junk food vegan. If you have a hankering for a meatball sub, you can get a vegan sub to appease you, but don’t go here if you are looking for whole food plant based options.

I agree. I was so excited that they are here but the only vegetables were lettuce, tomatoes and onions on processed, junk food fake meat. I didn’t even find vegetables to eat.

Truly, but as far as junk food goes, the sauces are organic and made from scratch and so dang good. There's new healthier options on the menu but I would be hard pressed to pass up the good stuff. Simply, this is a place for a real treat. 🤤

Nice to have a broad selection - Edit
Everything here is vegan, which is great when you walk in and realize you can get anything from burgers to wings to cheesesteaks. We split a Rueben, animal style fries, and wings. The animal style fries were great (would not get plain fries — needs more flavor). The Rueben wasn’t super fancy but it honestly nailed the reasonable sandwich niche and tasted great. We split the wings between a hot buffalo and Asian style sauce. Both sauces were great. My wife thought the wings were a bit too moist, but I enjoyed them at lunch and even more as leftovers. I would definitely come back here.

Delicious, large menu! - Edit
This may be the only vegan restaurant in Alaska, but at least it's awesome! I'd go here if they had it where I live.
Read moreThere were a lot of options on the menu. It seems like there have been even more different options in the past. I'd check their Instragram if you want to make sure you're seeing the latest menu, Everything I had was really delicious. Especially the mock "chicken" they use for the wings and other dishes, I was told they make it in-house. YUM!
This is NOT a food truck any longer. There are maybe five or so tables inside, so not a huge space, but there were enough open tables when we went. They seem to do a lot of carry out.
Pros: Large menu, In-person dining or carry out

The Best All-Vegan Restaurant in Alaska (And The Only One!) - Edit
It's always a shock to see so many options when most restaurants only have a few. The owner came up with all-vegan recipes with many options including burgers, Philly cheese steaks, and more. I tried the Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Boneless Wyngs, and the Animal Style Fries and all of them were fantastic! Alaska is lucky to have this restaurant.

The people here are super nice and helpful. The variety of all vegan food is great to see. I especially love that there are several options for some foods, such as ‘your choice of black beans, Jack fruit, or beyond beef’.

Bring your own knife. Great vegan food. - Edit
This is wonderful. Too have a good vegan restaurant so close. The food is great. This is not a food truck, but it is in a small space. Maybe better for take out then eating in. Still the food is great and the staff is very friendly and patient. PS. Look up the menu on line before you go.

Would have starved (vegan-ly speaking) if it weren’t for this place! The menu changes and rotates, but everything tastes amazing. These peeps know what they’re doing. Even my non-vegan wife was very impressed! Not to miss!

Vegan Rotating Menu- come every week! - Edit
We were thrilled to discover a vegan food truck in Anchorage when arriving here this summer. Dan is super friendly, and the menu changes every week. You can follow them on Instagram to see the menus, and Dan will also tell you what's coming in future weeks if you ask. Everything we've had here has been delicious and there's always a nice selection. For instance, this week was Greek and Italian week, and we got a portobello gyro with hummus and pita chips, and a meatball sandwich with a side of pasta salad. Last week was sliders, and next week will be the "South of the Border" menu. As of summer 2021, most meals are $14 and include at least one side.

Worth seeing again...and again... - Edit
Going to open by saying: VEGAN GYROS, complete with feta cheez, sauteed onions and peppers, and a side of pretty fantastic hummus. Everyone else catering in Anchorage area, you should be taking notes on this guy's hummus; best I've had that I haven't made, myself. Clearly a believer in the redemptive qualities of tahini, this fellow. But I digress...
Read moreThis guy goes the extra mile. My little fam and I have been there every weekend for the past couple of months (live within an easy bike ride of the place, and it's become our weekend routine to get a meal there). Dan's great about taking omissions or alterations for kid-friendly meals (no onions, not spicy, in our case).
Rotational menus by the week have been: BBQ sliders, GYROS!, Latinx/Tex-Mex, chili dogs, reubens, subs and hot sammies, and a few fast-food style items, if you're looking for that nostalgic fix. I've probably missed a couple menus/items. Protein and/or entree choices (menu-dependent) are jackfruit (Dan does his own pulled jackfruit, tender as you could ever want it, for carnitas, etc.), Beyond, beans (Tex-Mex), portobello...
Toppings are always fresh and crisp. Dan scrupulously observes all health and safety precautions regarding hand (and face!) PPE. He serves his reubens and hot sandwiches with a good dill pickle, and the cheez he uses is melted to perfection. Sides are either his own creation/experimentation, or family recipes (best pasta salad I've ever had - and pasta salad is not typically my thing). Bread is toasted or grilled, tortillas are heated. Dan makes the effort to put all his food boxes together nicely.
Preference is planning on being at this location through the winter. I'm hoping all plant-based visitors and locals show Dan some love, as he's pretty much the only fully vegan entree option in town. He really does have something for everybody. Personally, I plan on continuing to stop by on a weekly, at minimum.
Pros: Food-to-price ratio VERY generous, Positive, friendly
Cons: None😄

Amazing Food Truck - Edit
We have been here literally every week since it opened. The menu rotates and there have been exciting new additions each week. My favorite have been the nachos and the reuben. The owner is super nice and obviously very excited to be able to offer vegan options in Anchorage. I highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Preference makes this cow happy - Edit
Total yum, the food here is incredible, and Dan is exactly the food truck chef you hope for. We frequented on a weekend that featured Reuben sandwiches with a choice of sides, all of which were delicious, ample, and so affordable. We will return any chance we have, and we will look forward to whatever Dan will have for us to savor. The food truck dining experience at Preference is worth the swerve or drive for any vegan or anyone interested in an incredible plant-based meal.
