Tons of vegan options, a paradise in the airport

Our flight had a catering issue last minute and couldn't provide special vegan meals so gave us a flight voucher to use in the airport and the attendant recommended we check out plum market. We went and were super surprised , tons of vegan snacks and options from chocolates and candies, veggies, prepared hot meals (fries, mushroom tacos, lentil salad), prepared overnight oats, vegan bahn mi and Mediterranean wraps, chips, nuts, dried fruits, protein bars galore. Very glad to know this is here now!

Pros: So many options, Hot and cold meal options, Clearly labelled vegan options

Cons: It's an airport so a bit pricey

I had the Vegan Cauliflower Tacos & Vegan Cauliflower General Tso w/ rice and both were amazing!! They also have a lot of good snack options! I’m so glad to see so many vegan option available just at this market.

All about it!!

Idk why so many people are hating on this place… multiple healthy options, sandwiches, snack foods. Seriously.. so many other airports don’t offer NEARLY as many choices. Everything I’ve had here has been great. Maybe it’s pricey.. but that’s airport life.

Quick vegan food

Two vegan sandwiches (clearly labeled) in their grab and go cooler. One was a Mediterranean wrap and the other a Bahn mi with tofu.

Flavor was fine, but not great. Just easy airport food.

Horrible

The only good thing about this place is that it has food that is at least edible, if you are in a similar situation to me where you have a layover in Detroit and need to eat something.

We got the hummus and crackers and a small sandwich for $22, which is hideously overpriced, even for two of the least expensive options. They were both genuinely awful, worse than tasteless and barely edible. I am not sure the hummus is actually hummus as I have never had hummus taste like that.

I would usually give an extra star for including vegan options but an average convenience store provides better food than anything made here.

If you are in the Detroit airport looking for food, we had Cat Cora’s in another airport offer to veganize a pasta entree for us and it was delicious, large enough for two, and cost about the same as the food we bought here.

Pros: none

Cons: everything

Way to $$, even for an airport

The vegan curry cauliflower and vegan tacos were very tasty. But for the portion size, terrible price. $14 USD for 2 small little 2 bite tacos. Tasty but way too much money, it's sad.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Way too expensive, even for airport, Small portion size even for airport

Okay vegan options for an airport

Taco shell were a little hard and cauliflower was mushy...but there was a nice sauce on the vegan tacos. I tried them with a spicy corn side and the kale and brussels sprouts salad. It's a bit pricey but expected for an airport. There are a couple of $9 house wines at the bar. I'm just glad that vegan options were clearly labeled.

Pros: Vegan options , Clear labels for dietary restrictions , Full bar

Cons: Bartender was on the phone the entire time, Food was just ok, Main checkout was weirdly closed during lunch rush

That’s a wrap!

The Santa Fe wrap has a savory chipotle sauce, caramelized onions, a few other healthy veggies, and a black bean purée for protein! Not bad for a vegan option in an airport.

Even by airport standards, a poor experience

We had the:1) vegan cauliflower tacos- they were mushy and tasteless; 2) cold couscous salad - zero taste; same for what seemed like defrosted frozen vegetables; and 3) roasted cauliflower with mint and tahini - barely okay, faint taste, swimming in watery, oily sauce.
Even by airport standards, where one needs to set the culinary expectations low, this was a poor experience.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Preparation offered little taste

Good if you have to grab something

A lot of vegan options for snacks, really expensive if you get something fresh. The hummus was tasty enough, but the congealed oil on top was only good in that you could scrape it off.

Alright

Only vegan option at salad bar is the kale & Brussels sprouts salad. Alright selection of snacks.

Breakfast Options

Vegetarians would have a lot of options, but vegans would struggle to find something besides fruit or oatmeal if they want something fresh. Prepackaged vegan snacks are available.

It’s a deli

I mean, ok... but it’s just a deli. Don’t get too excited.

A life saver

I come here often when I’m traveling and this store has a lot of food options. Fresh and premade, snacks, drinks,....
