Quaint little veggie gem - Edit
This was my first visit back to South Square since covid and thankfully it was everything I remembered.
Read moreThe menu is quite small and simple but a daily vegan special gave me and nut cheesy vegetable gratin. It was absolutely delicious. Loads of vegan cake options. Set in a little arts space with friendly and accommodating staff.

Just wonderful - Edit
Received a friendly welcome on arrival. Chose the Feijiada which was delicious and served with new potatoes and salad. Coffee, tea and cakes were also yummy and we found the prices fine. Nice selection of coffees etc to buy also. Would definitely recommend!

Simple but Lovely - Edit
Lovely little café. Limited menu (usually about three mains and some ‘light bites’. At least one main is always vegan. Delicious home made cakes. Good coffees and really friendly staff. The loos are in a different building across the (small) square in the complex and are now four or five (I didn’t count) unisex cubicles not separate male or female ones as they used to be - I know this is a positive for some people but not for me.

Simply lovely - Edit
Good menu well prepared at reasonable prices. Lovely location. Interesting exhibit on maggots and health in next door art gallery - apparently the gases that they gave off was very good against TB

Tasty/healthy food, in a good location - Edit
Have been visiting this cafe for many years, and it still provides some excellent value, great tasting food. And cake - always leave room for the cake (today's was a tiramisu cake - one of the best we have had for some time)

Friday night treat - Edit
We have attended several of their Friday night events, all which have been full of great food, wholesome ingredients and a warm welcoming environment.
Read moreThe food is delicious, always with a vegan & vegetarian option (even for pudding!)
Would highly recommend if you can't make it during the day. The Friday nights only run once a month I think so make sure you check first and book as they are always really busy

Aplenty to share! - Edit
A quaint little café, buzzing with life and character. Helpful and friendly staff, more than happy to explain the menu and recommend vegan options (fantastic array to select from). ‘Plenty at the Square’ is a part of a little square which includes galleries and workshops, with one internal doorway at the café leading to a little art shop, selling work from local creatives. Very clean and quirky interior.
Read moreI ordered the Spicy Bean Enchilada, my mum the vegetable fritters, and my partner the soup of the day with a side order of potato wedges, and we all shared bits and bats from our plates with each other as per usual. The food was freshly made to order and arrived promptly and beautifully presented and generous, everything was absolutely delicious! I love wholesome, good feeling food that’s got no added nasties, so ‘Plenty at the Square’ is just the place for it. Also, despite none of us really seeking out fried food usually, the fritters were so light and delicate, not greasy at all. Cooked to perfection! My partner also ordered a slice of vegan carrot cake, I had to have a tiny nibble; so tasty and fluffy.
I will definitely go out of my way to make several more visits when I’m in the area in the future. You cannot miss this little gem.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Quirky, clean atmosphere, Brilliant, fresh menu. Plenty of vegan choices.
Cons: Nothing!
