Pleasant comfortable atmosphere, food ok - Edit
Easy comfortable space, fast good service, best cornbread Chandler has had in awhile, he loved it.
Read moreOur veggie burger and "egg" sandwich were good, everything was fresh and well presented and healthy but flavors of the dressings were more tangy and fermented than I like (Chandler loved them).
Burger was very good but the heavily dressed Salad had a dressing I didn't like. But I would come here again to try something else, and Chandler was very happy with the flavor palette, very nice atmosphere and not crowded, at least during the week at the time we came here,

Planted- Smith Street BK - Edit
This spot used to be great, still looks great but totally fails to deliver on the food front!! $60 for 3 tacos and a small vege burger with 2 grainy matcha drinks…. Add to that two feral kids running around one of them, barefoot and coughing, continually… she didn’t try to coming up to the table several times !!

Nice comfy place - Edit
Delicious food. I had the egg sandwich, shared a muffin and enjoyed a turmeric latte. It was happy hour for alcohol. They had many options but we were in the mood for coffee. It's a beautiful place. Nice vibes. Yes it is kinda pricey however I appreciate the smaller, more normal portions. I think healthy food costs more, it's worth it!

Not good at all - Edit
Came here on a recommendation and boy was that a bad recommendation!
Read moreI'm VGF so always really appreciate a VGF establishment but inedible is inedible.
Thankfully we just tried a blueberry muffin for my hubby which was very chickpea flour tasting it's only saving grace was all the blueberries.
I tried the salad rolls. The dipping sauce was good but the rolls were poorly rolled and everything inside was dipping with vinegar. I ate one of the four.

Whelp, there's Vegan, VeganGF and then there's QUALITY Vegan/VeganGF....obviously this place doesn't qualify,as per your review. Disappointing, to be sure. Thanks for the honest feedback.

Had lunch here while shopping in the area and was pleasantly surprised at the tasty and creative vegan dishes and sweets offered. Hybrid plant store and eatery with a few garden seats, it makes a nice refreshment station.

Amazing! - Edit
Cozy space with plants, crafts and decoration for sale, in addition to delicious food. I tried the "cashew egg" toast, the blueberry muffin and the chai, all wonderful. I strongly recommend that you try it out!

What an incredible experience. Whether you are vegan or not, this is a must go to place if you are in Brooklyn area. Being someone who is vegan plus GF , SF and non processed food, there were so many options for us and so satisfying! Absolutely delicious, beautiful presentation, savory dishes, FANTASTIC service, best secret garden in NY!

Planted in Brooklyn - Edit
What a find. Entering Planted is like entering a calming glade, from the verdant plant displays outside to the hanging plants and plant misters at the entrance, giving way to a friendly face at the counter.
Read moreI love that this place is vegan and prioritizes whole foods, health, and the environment by sourcing locally. Their menu is seasonal and delicious. Surrounded by all the plants, it creates a pretty cool space.
I had the mushroom latte and a brownie. Mushroom lattes seem to be a thing in NYC. Since moving here, I’ve only had it once. Trying it at Planted made it legit. It was creamy with a nice depth of flavor. As for the brownie, I’ll let the picture speak for itself. Awesome goodness.
On the way out, I took advantage of their sale and grabbed a couple of plants to decorate the new digs with. You can say I’m a bit more planted in NYC now. Har har…

This place has a WFPB vibe so if that's your thing and you're willing to pay for it, go for it. If you like your food just ok, this is the place for you.

100% vegan AND gluten-free! - Edit
I can't say enough good things about this place! The space is loaded with plants (and they have a zero-waste, plant-based store next!), there is a beautiful backyard, and the menu is incredible! Everything is 100% vegan and 100% gluten-free, and the food was delicious. They also have some interesting drinks as well, like a mushroom latte that was very good. Please go check them out!

Overpriced and poor service - Edit
I waited for ~30 minutes for an underwhelming sandwich and a smoothie. I already wasn’t planning on returning but I later found out the owner is a slumlord who tried to illegally evict tenants during a pandemic (check out the article in NY Magazine) so I extra won’t be returning here.

Slumlord owned business - Edit
Look up the owners, they are awful people who exploit their workers and tenants. The opposite of compassion. This app forced me to give two stars, but they deserve zero and have no place in the veg community.

Wow! Favorite place in NYC - Edit
Wow i tried it here and I’ve been to soooo many NYC vegan restaurants and this is by far my fav. I got the Blue Smoothie Bowl and the Jackfruit Tacos and I was blown away. The jackfruit tacos melt in your mouth and are so delicious. The smoothie bowl was awesome. The atmosphere is exactly what I’ve been looking for in NYC, a vegan cafe to really get work done but that is cute with awesome food. I love this place and will be back!!!

Pricey Plant Based Food - Edit
Planted is located very near the subway in the heart of trendy Carroll Gardens. Understanding the real estate dynamic was the only thing that justified the $7- price tag on the avocado toast. This was literally one slice of toast! Having said that, I must admit it was really delicious, and left me wanting more. The interior is rustic, in the most premeditated way, but comfortable enough and the counter person was friendly and helpful.

Great cozy vegan cafe with yummy food - Edit
Lovely cozy cafe with delicious food! So many cafes have food as an afterthought but there is clearly someone who knows what they're doing in the kitchen here! We were very impressed with both the rancheros and the tortilla soup. Idk how they make the cashew cheese but it's amazing! We thought the prices for portions were quite fair, especially considering it's all made in house.
Read moreThe space is very lovely and we appreciated that they have specific tables for laptop workers and tables reserved just for diners. Everyone can be happy! There's even a kids space in the back with toys and things to play with.

Overpriced and disappointing - Edit
I was disappointed. The food was just ok, memorable primarily for how expensive it was. It’s great that there’s finally something fully vegan in insufferable Carroll Gardens, but I was hoping for something less painfully hipster.
