We came to Plantable for a late breakfast/early lunch. The owner is lovely and so friendly. There wasn‘t a physical or digital menu, instead she showed us pictures of all the meals on her tablet and explained them to us. While this was very personal and special, it was hard to remember all the things that were available as there were so many. I would have preferred to be able to think about my choice a bit more. Of course I cannot say if this was improved - they may have a real menu now!

In the end, the owner also gave us some crispy tofu for free to hear our opinion, and it was truly delicious!
The location is not that cosy, which is not a problem, but I wanted to mention it nevertheless.
Despite the aspects I criticized this was a lovely meal and we do recommend this place!

We really enjoyed the food here. We tried the Teriyaki Tofu Bowl and their Pad Thai. The portions are not particularly big but the food tastes really good and the prices here are quite low in comparison to the other vegan places in Chiang Mai.

The restaurant is located next to the Chiang Mai Hostel named mid-point activity. It has a nice menu. When I arrived, there were only two people. Considering it was an empty place, it took a long time to prepare the two dishes I requested (salad and spicy tofu with a steamed rice dish). The food was delicious and nutritious.

They have various kinds of food options. I had the Pad Kra Pao and may have chosen a level pf spiciness I could just about handle. They gave me some dragon fruit to ease the tongue burn. The owners are extremely kind.

I called into ‘Plantable’ for lunch and was met with a simple but pleasing open seating area. The staff were warm and friendly and were genuinely interesting in their food. I had the glass noodles made extra spicy on my request and they were perfect! A nice clean heat without an oily/salty taste and the dish contained a wide variety of healthy plant based ingredients. I also had a protein drink which was also good. Well worth a visit if you are in Chiang Mai! Price was very reasonable too!

Lovely food served by lovely ladies. Great to see new vegan places popping up around Chiang Mai. We got the teriyaki tofu which was full of hearty veggies and seemingly an entire block of tofu! As well as a deliciously fragrant tom yum soup. Great value at only 100 baht each. They also have an extensive drinks menu with several types of plant milk and even vegan yoghurt.
Read moreThe outdoor seating area gets hot during the day, so I suggest finding a spot near a fan. Also consider bringing your own utensils if possible, as they only offer disposable tableware.
Worth checking out if you’re nearby, which you probably will be at some point because it’s so central. The mother-daughter duo who run the place are so warm and generous. They themselves make it worth a visit!

Plantable is a great newcomer to Chiang Mai’s vegan scene. Run by lovely friendly people, this cafe offers freshly cooked delicious and healthy vegan staples in big portions. On this occasion we had a mushroom and broccoli stir fry and a ginger tofu stir fry. With rice, we only paid 200 baht, so this is arguably some one of the best value in options in Chiang Mai too.
