This place kinda crazy huge +goes hard - Edit
This place is a whole building with 4 different restaurants, each with their own floor. The scale of the place made it feel a little impersonal, at least compared to every other vegan restaurant I’ve been to, but the quality was high and they serve quickly.

Expensive, but good - Edit
I do like the concept of multiple restaurants in one, and I have comments on three different sections of the area. I'd give the whole experience 4/5 and also the burger bar experience 4/5.
Read moreFirst, I was excited to check out the sushi bar thing they're doing in the evenings. The menu didn't really speak to me, and it was a little pricey, so we ended up moving over to the burger bar on the other side of the first floor.
Staff was nice and service was prompt. Food was good, but fairly pricey. The menu was also a little vague, and I had to ask a few questions to figure out what was going on.
They do make their own burger patties which is great - I'm so tired of beyond or impossible. The burgers come with a side of greens, which for $15-17 I would hope for a little bit more or the option to upgrade for a different side, especially since the burgers are a little on the small side to begin with.
I got the fried chick'n sandwich, and split the loaded fries. The sando was good, though I prefer a heavier seitan. I did like especially the miso mayo on the loaded fries, but they could've gone a little heavier on the toppings for, again, $16 something. We also got hot chocolate, which was only listed on the cocktail menu, but they were able to hold the whiskey for us which was really nice.
I also picked up some macarons from the cafe area and they are GREAT. Macarons are made with almond flour and are super finicky, but they were only selling them for $3.75 which is super low compared to their other markups. Would definitely recommend picking up a few!
Finally, I have one comment on the marketplace. It is SUPER EXPENSIVE. Order from NoPigNeva or VeganEssentials instead. They're marking stuff up 200% from regular grocery store prices on products that are already expensive!! I had happened to look at prices for a random product they had, MingBings, at market basket before we left. $5.50 ish there, and $10.95 or something at plant city!! Just be aware.

This place is a little overwhelming the first time, but we are glad we stuck it out. The food and drinks were super yummy, service was very friendly. There are so many choices here, with the 5 restaurants in one building. #Veganuary

Poor customer service - Edit
Food was good but customer service needs an overhaul. Two weeks ago I ordered online and a cheese I paid $25 was not in stock. I asked for a refund and the employee said their manager would see to it that evening. Called back that evening and a manager said she took care of it and I would see a refund 3 to 5 business days later. 2 weeks later and no refund so I called back yesterday. The other manager I talked to said he would push through the refund and I should see it this morning and to call back if I don’t. By noon today I hadn’t so I called again. They told me he would call me back within the hour and he didn’t. Called 3 hours later and got through to him and he said he had pushed it through at 1:45pm today. Not yesterday like he had said. Your customer service feels like the run around and when you make promises you don’t keep you should go above and beyond to make it right. Y’all didn’t. You did the bare minimum you should have done 2 weeks ago.

Simply the best - Edit
This place already has such a great reputation so not much else I can add except for this is a must-try if you are ever near providence. They have several different cuisines inside and a coffee bar/shop so there’s truly something for everyone. We went to the Italian-based restaurant and got the rigatoni bolognese and spicy pizza (sorry I don’t remember the names exactly, this was a couple months back). Also got a coffee and a maple pecan pop tart.

Good food with lots of options - Edit
I have only ordered to-go from here so far and the food was very good although for the price it could be bigger portion sizes. I’ve had a couple family members work here from the opening of the restaurant and they initially loved it but with time it seems the management needs some work as it affects their staffs ability to appropriately serve their customers. I hope they can pull it together as this place has so much potential!

Slow slow delivery - Edit
My husband ordered from here and waited almost 2 hours for his delivery and finally he had to board his plane so didn’t even get to the meal he ordered. It was a bummer, hopefully next time he’s in the area he can have a better experience.

First vegan food hall & marketplace - Edit
Makes veganism look cool. I don’t get out to RI a lot but this place hit the spot for an early dinner. Had the truffle pizza from Double Zero. Waitress greeted me and promptly asked if I had any allergies. I don’t but as a medical professional I really appreciated the gesture as I’m sure many other FA folx do.

Love the concept but could use improvement in implementation - Edit
Love the concept of several different vegan restaurants all in one place called Plant City. I had hoped that we could order different items from different restaurants but that isn't the case. You have to choose which restaurant to eat at or order take out. It would be amazing if they would improve Plant City by offering this option without having to get take out. We decided to eat at New Burger because it is the only place that you can eat outdoors (and we wanted to eat outside bc of covid). We got the truffle burger and everything fries which was super delicious! But the mac and cheese was horrible - we could barely finish it. I highly recommend that you not get this - it was incredibly bland. We also got a few drinks and they were ok - good but nothing out of the ordinary and not really worth the high cost.

Unique vegan megaplex - Edit
This place is a collection of vegan restaurants. They have everything from pre-packaged grab-n-go to fancy sit-down restaurants. We went for the Italian restaurant (Double Zero) and ordered eggplant parmesan and pizzaiola (cauliflower, chickpeas, tomato). These complemented each other very well. The parmesan was top notch: cashew, macadamia, and almond cheeses. And the pizzaiola was unique, with flavors of basil, capers, and tomato. We also had the churros - these came out very hot, crispy on the outside and fresh doughy on the inside, with chocolate and dulce de lèche dips. Hands down the best churros I have ever had! We also got some macaroons and croissant to go from the bakery downstairs. Very recommended!

Love this place - Edit
I love Plant City, and my omni friends who I’ve gone here with do too! There are four restaurants within this food hall: Make Out (bowls, wraps, sandwiches), Besina (Mexican), New Burger (burgers etc.), and Double Zero (pizza, pasta, etc.). My favorite is Make Out, simply because of the build-your-own bowl option. The fingerling potatoes and chickpea-tomato medley (two personal favorites) are SO GOOD. As are the Brussels sprouts and everything else there 🙃 also, the atmosphere is great, and there are always lots of college-aged people there, adding to the young and hip vibe. I’ve been four or five times and can’t wait to come again😄

Fried, but good - Edit
We went to the burger restaurant (the host called it “the American restaurant”). We chose it because it is the only one with outside seating. Food was good but nearly everything on the menu is fried… which is normally fine. We shared a fried green tomato sandwich and it was basically fried batter. Neither of us ate it. The everything fries, on the other hand, were amazing. Afterwards we got a slice of chocolate cake and a poptart from the bakery. Poptart was ok, cake was fabulous.

Loved it! - Edit
We pretty much planned a night away to try Plant City, and it did not disappoint! We had dinner outside at the burger place and it was delicious. We got the Buffalo cauliflower, and then split the fried “chicken” sandwich, and the “steak” and cheese. All was delicious. Sadly, after all that food we couldn’t order dessert.
Read moreWe returned the next morning for breakfast, and that was the star of the show. Coffee was on point, as was the breakfast burrito and breakfast croissant sandwich. We ordered inside and once again found a table outside to enjoy our food. This time we did manage to take a couple bakery items to go- a chocolate croissant and a “honey” almond donut.
All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.
We also really liked the location. A perfect spot to eat and then take an evening stroll along the river.
Pros: Vegan EVERYTHING!, Many choices, Location
