Great Osakan Cuisine - Edit
Really great Osakan cuisine! One of the troubles of being vegan in Japan is the lack of options and as lovely as some of the other vegan restaurants we tried were, they had lots of burgers and not as much “traditional” cuisine. Having just had a tour guide tell us about all this traditional Osakan food that we couldn’t eat, we found out that pretty much all of it was served here! Can’t speak highly enough of it, so nice to not have to miss out on any of the culinary culture just because we’re vegan! Also has really friendly staff who speak great English and an easy to use online order/menu system in English!

Surprised by other reviews - Edit
We went here as it was a perfect location for where we were. The food we had was great and the location allowed us to feel in the main hussle and bustle when usually vegan places are found out of the way.

Not nut allergy friendly - Edit
The food looked delicious and we ordered drinks here. For others who have a nut allergy, staff advised that all food items contain nut products. Lovely staff team who were apologetic about this.

Fine food - Edit
Food was fine a bit costly for portion though. Menu felt haphazard and not focused. Nice staff though. Only takes card

Solid vegan option - Edit
The vegan takoyaki was alright, the truffle salt variant was very tasty. The gyoza was very tasty as well. A very solid option is the cutlet bowl. Two very tasty and crispy vegan cutlets on top of a well flavoured bed of rice with some greens. Good meal to have after a long day. Staff is very friendly and there should always be enough space.

Okay option in Dotonbori - Edit
Decent enough vegan options, and not bad variety either. It's the vegan takoyaki that's the only must-have on the menu, really. Portion sizes seem a bit small given price point (relative to the non-vegan versions of similar items at other establishments nearby).

A tourist trap - Edit
I thought I could never try takoyakis again for being vegan. Their takoyakis were so delicious. The problem that I have is the price. Takoyakis are not some fancy food that costs ¥1,400 for a set that includes 6 pcs of takoyaki (for reference, you can get 6pcs of non-vegan takoyaki for less than ¥500); it’s a street food! And it’s obvious that the place targets tourists, who are too innocent to think that it’s ok to pay that much for takoyakis, and their menus are mainly in English (which already says a lot). That said, if you’re vegan and you really want to know what takoyaki tastes like, I’d recommend trying it here, but I wouldn’t recommend trying it twice.

Oko Takoyaki has great Tacoyaki. Sometimes the lines are long but Oko is always a fun experience and much cheaper. She has 2 shops actually Oko Takoyaki and “Oko Fun Okonomiyaki Bar”

Dear SuperChipmunk, we truly appreciate your compliments on our takoyaki.
Read moreFor the price of takoyaki, we serve 6 pieces of takoyaki (standard flavor) for 700 yen.
The lunchtime set of six pieces of takoyaki with soup and salad is 1,400 yen.
We are very sorry if this is a staff error.
Would it be possible for us to ask which menu item you ordered since the picture was of the single-item menu?
Thank you very much.

Great takoyaki and location - Edit
Right in Dotonbori so it's very convenient if you're already inthe area. I ordered the takoyaki set which I felt was really reasonably priced and it tasted amazing. Even burned your mouth just like real takoyaki would haha, so be careful when eating!
