Some of the best bakes I've had

This was a staple for me while I was a student - the vegan sourdough donuts and pizzas are great. They also have vegan pastries, which are great to have in their super aesthetic cafe.

A few gems on the menu

This cafe isn’t exclusively veggie or vegan but the options that they had on were both very delicious. The food quality especially the focaccia was fantastic! Great place if you are going in a mixed group but if you want loads of options give it a miss. I like the ordering system which works well on a busy Sunday, no waiting around to pay so the tables moves along quickly.

Pros: Fast service , High quality ingredients, Friendly service

Cons: Limited options

best focaccia ever

this bakery is definitely a treat but so worth it. every time i go to bristol this is on my list for lunch, the focaccia sandwich is just unreal. this time i had a baba ganoush, artichoke and tomato sandwich and it sent me to garlic heaven 😋 i also had a lemon and blueberry cake after which was just as delicious and such a thick slice! very moist and just full of flavour

Pros: such tasty flavours

Cons: expensive but worth it

Delicious But Limited Vegan Options

The limited vegan options at Pinkman’s are undeniably delicious. I had the avocado on toast and it was so tasty; topped with a sweet chilli sauce it was amazing. The bread was so fresh and the avocado smash was so unusual but delicious. I also had the vegan chocolate peanut cake which was a decent vegan cake option. As much as I enjoyed the items I tried here, they have very limited vegan options. They usually only have 2 cake options and the avocado alongside one other dish is the only vegan option too. Their menu, as far as I’ve known, never changes; so I don’t visit this place often as it can get boring. I would still recommend though if you’re looking for a decent brunch meal in Bristol. Also, the vibes of the bakery are great.

Pros: Avocado on Toast, Vegan cakes, Has a nice vibe

Cons: Quite expensive , Limited vegan options

The best bakery in Bristol!

I first tried this bakery on my offer day for the University of Bristol with my mum. Now every time she visits, she comes super early so that we can have breakfast here together. Their Focaccia is beyond amazing as is their chocolate and peanut cake slice (both vegan and delicious!!). My mum gets vegetarian options and goes for the cheese toastie and the sourdough doughnut which she says are like she’s died and gone to heaven. The first time I went I wasn’t vegan so can vouch for the doughnuts being heavenly!!

Delicious food

We ordered the vegan squash pizza, ciabatta falafel sandwich and the 2 vegan desserts: a doughnut and a chocolate slice. All the food was amazing but especially the pizza, the flavours of all the ingredients were amazing. I would definitely return.

Pros: Lots of clearly labelled vegan options, Reasonably priced, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Can get busy at popular times

Nice place, okay options

A bit expensive, but there are a few vegan options. The salads personally make me a bit queasy as they’re really overly oily and creamy tasting. I wish there were more vegan options as I’m bored of the couple they have now.

Pros: Lovely atmosphere and decor

Cons: Quite expensive, Don’t really update their menu much

Disappointing

We went here for a weekend brunch and there were two vegan options. I asked if they could make their kimchi on toast without eggs but they said they couldn't do that. Opted for mushrooms on toast instead with coconut cream. It was really claggy and I couldn't eat much of it. The bread was dry and bland. Also had a cup of tea with soy milk. The milk had started to clump together so I asked for a new jug but they told me it was fine and that it just "does that" in the fridge. Don't waste your money here guys, there are so many good places to eat in Bristol that are great for vegans!

okay

Sunday morning and I opted for breakfast here as it was open.
Great looking place and nice staff. I went for mushroom on toast with a coconut cream.
It was decent value and good to get a vegan option. The coconut cream was too sweet for my taste, other may like it, but I'm not a massive fan of sweet.
The reason I came here was the fact it was a bakery and saying that the bread was a bit of a let down. It didn't taste that fresh and was disappointing.

Pros: staff, location

Cons: limited, meat

vegan heaven

Many vegan choices, 4 of their 6 vegetarian salads were vegan. Vegan pizza, bumper vegan sandwiches, various vegan breakfast options, vegan tagine, vegan bake, 3 vegan cake options and vegan ice-cream pot. Completely spoilt for choice. The staff member serving me was vegan and talked with enthusiasm about the many options. I chose the tagine with flat bread which was incredible and I took away the blackforest cake which was delicious and a loaf of seeded sourdough. My (vegy) friend had the melanzana parmigiana which she loved and a honeycomb sour-doughnut!

Pros: Beautiful interior with many varied vegan options

Not much for vegans

Just popped in here for a light lunch but there were not many options for vegans but vegetarians would probably be quite satisfied. The food I ate was very good though and okay value for money.

Very busy and tables are all pushed together in long rows, which makes it feel very cramped.

Pros: Decently made food

Cons: Not many vegan options, Cramped, busy atmosphere
