vegan asian fusion, so good! - Edit
i love all vegan restaurants, because i can choose anything and i don't have to worry! pinellia has such a wide wide range, and from a lot of cuisines as well. there are some korean dishes, some japanese, chinese, and thai. it's really good, and it's pretty reasonably priced! sometimes certain dishes are less flavorful than i think society is used to, but to me that just indicates that it is healthier than a greasy takeout option (which can be amazing sometimes, don't get me wrong), but there are still so many things to choose from and they are all tasty!

Pros: i can recommend everything! my faves have been:, fried mushrooms, kimchi noodles
Cons: sometimes things lack flavor (moo shu veg), the wings (but i don't like buffalo sauce, so), miso soup a bit underwhelming

I have only been to South bend twice in my life, but each time I had to come to this restaurant. My favorite is the orange seitan and the jap chae. I wish there was a location near Chicago

Vegan treasure of South Bend - Edit
Completely vegan!!! What a sweet treat for a mid-sized city in Indiana!
Read moreI reliably order the orange “chicken” in the lunch special (available during the work week), which makes the meal a few bucks cheaper than it would be otherwise. The sauce was *not* spicy for someone who self identifies as having a (unfortunately) very low spice tolerance. If you’re ordering online, you may be able to ask for different spice levels in the “notes” section.
Since the pandemic, we’ve ordered it to be picked up to go several times and it’s always been done on time and usually ready for us before we arrive! Very friendly family who runs the place. We love supporting Pinellia and getting to treat ourselves with their delicious food.

Vegan but very disappointing - Edit
Veggies cooked in syrup - not good. Love the seitan options. But the dishes have an odd sweet flavor. The yam and tarot was actually yam and broccoli. Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had - tiny slices of tofu - overcooked noodles that tasted like ... not pad Thai. Kudos for being vegan. Bu that doesn’t give bad cooking a pass.

Good place for a quick take-out - Edit
Not a bad place for a quick stop. I grabbed a few meals while traveling across the country and they held me over. More deep friend than I preffer. Too strong on the sauces as well but I feel I am in the minority on that.

Mind Blown - Edit
Seriously some of the best vegan food I’ve had. The vegan BBQ ribs taste so close to actual ribs I had to do a double take - the bed of kale it comes on tastes amazing too. You get a side salad with a sesame ginger dressing, as well as some white beans and rice. The fries are great too. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT FRIENDS!

This was the best vegan food I've ever had. After going out to eat I usually hate myself and feel sick but vegan food doesn't make me feel that way and this place had so much flavor and the textures were amazing. It's nice that Northern Indiana with a million people has at least one place now we can go out to eat. I'm starting to not hate living here.

Cons: 30 minutes from my house, way too good and now I will go bankrupt , too close to my house and I will never learn 2cook

Very good, lots of options - Edit
All vegan food, there were so many options it was hard to tell what to order from the website. Lots of vegan options is a good problem to have, I just think I may have spent less money if I could have figured out the menu better. We love fried tofu (not so much fake meat), and I could not find an option to sub that. The spinach, soy, and soy cheese wontons were a hit and so were the fried spring rolls! Nice people too!
