Good food, good folks - tougher market to be in ... but a pretty decent selection of Asian vegan cuisine, and very inexpensive (especially at lunchtime!)

In Awe - Edit
I recently stopped this small, unassuming eatery during a road trip and was absolutely blown away by the food. As a vegan of nearly a decade, I never thought I’d have the chance to enjoy such dishes again. The Orange Seitan was incredibly crispy, the King Oyster mushrooms had an uncanny resemblance to scallops in texture (In a great way), and the Malaysian Curry transported me back to my first Raya celebration. Overall, it was a phenomenal culinary experience!

Food is super hot/quick and always perfectly made. We’ve eaten here a least every two weeks since they started. Favorites are Pineapple fried rice and Yaki Udon.

2 1/2 stars. Nice to have a vegan place but it is dirty and food is meh - Edit
The menu offers many items which was nice to see. I don’t know if there are many vegan places in the town but I know in the greater area (outside the larger cities here) there is nothing worthwhile. So I was happy to stumble on this place.
Read moreThe food was meh….. not terrible, didn’t taste bad, but just not something I’d look forward to having again. Prices were OK for how prices go these days. There was no utensils in the To Go bag and I didn’t ask for any. Just assumed they’d be in there since any other place does that. So maybe that was my fault or not.
But the bathroom was nasty, not just dirty from a day or two. When I see a nasty bathroom I seriously wonder about the kitchen where the food is prepared. Logic says a place will keep the areas where customers go and see cleaner than where they cannot go or cannot see.
I don’t live near here but, if I’m in the area again, I will skip this place and try another place due to the dirtiness.
Pros: larger number of menu items, wholly vegan, easy to park and easy to find
Cons: dirtiness

Alright! - Edit
This place is pretty good. Cool that South Bend has an all vegan Asian restaurant. You can see that it’s a family deal and that’s super cute. The food all seems kinda meh to me though. None of it really “hits”. My thoughts are that the menu is too expansive. If they were to rein it in a bit and make a handful of things REALLY WELL I think it could mean the world of difference. I’ll still get their takeout about once a month but I think the potential is expansive compared to what they’re actually offering. Other than that the relief of going to a place where you know everything is vegan is always a pleasure.

Delicious! The menu had a large selection of healthy dishes, they were also very accommodating to food allergies. If I lived in the area it would definitely be our go to when we dine out!

Wonderful! - Edit
I've been meaning to try this place for months and I'm glad I did. I had the udon noodle soup and some of my wife's sweet and sour soy protein. The food was great and the prices were what I'd expect from a non-vegan restaurant of similar quality.

A wonderful find in the Land of Notre Dame! Very small restaurant serving fresh spinached Spinach Salad, amongst other vegan treats. A Vegan MUST if in South Bend, Indiana!

Odd location in a strip mall, but nice enough place to sit if you eat in. The food is really delicious, and so many options for an entirely vegan place is fantastic.

Disappointed - Edit
Drove 9 hours on a business trip… saw that this was the only vegan spot in town and had good reviews so thought we’d try it. Unfortunately both dishes were drenched in sauce that was just way too sugary it made them inedible. The general tsos and the bbq pieces but like I said both sauces were too sweet. We asked for medium spice and there was 0 spice. The general tsos Chikn was good texture wise but again it just tasted terrible. I hope they fix their sauces and realize it doesn’t need to be drowning in sugar. Rough..

Very tasty! - Edit
We tried Pinellia for the first time today, while en route to Chicago. It was just a short jaunt from I-80, and convenient for travelers. The menu is extensive and they have a great lunch special that includes a number of entrees with Miso soup and a spring roll. We tried the mango soy medallion lunch special and the jade mushroom entree. Both were delicious. The mango soy medallions were tender and tasty with strips of mango, zucchini, and peppers— prepared sweet with a little spice. The jade mushroom dish was very savory with chewy battered and fried mushrooms on a bed of kale. The portions were generous— a good value and great flavor overall, with plenty of additional options to try. We ordered online and the food was ready when we arrived. There is a small dine in area, as well as take out.

Hit the spot - Edit
There's not a lot of vegan Asian food options near me, so it was impossible to pass up on an entirely vegan Asian restaurant. The portions were huge. We got the sweet and sour soy protein and seitan in garlic sauce dishes. Both sauces were very tasty and there were a lot of good veggies in the seitan dish. We also ordered tempura "yams and taro" which actually ended up being carrots, sweet potato, and broccoli. The batter was a little under seasoned. It was a lot of food overall, so I'd skip the tempura veggies next time.

There were so many things we wanted try, it was all great! This is a strip mall type restaurant, so it doesn’t look fancy. It was a perfect stop while traveling for some real food.

Treat While Traveling - Edit
Was driving through and hadn’t eaten for quite some time. My sister actually found the place and said hey they are vegan you could eat here. I was so happy with the vegetables that were perfectly cooked and the tofu. Usually place overcook them and they are mushy, but not here. Everyone in the group loved the food and ate almost their whole lunch meal. Each of us ordered something different and all was good.
