Flavourful Vegan Lunch at Pilgrims - Edit
Lunch at Hushkisson was nice. I was ready to try the vegan pie with salad but it was already sold out … because we went to nearly 2 pm. The vegan burger and toastie were very fresh and full of flavour. Check out my blog post https://cookingwithyoshiko.com/vegan-lunch-and-dinner-at-pilgrims-vegetarian-cafe-on-the-south-coast/

Good amount of vegan options - Edit
There was a pretty good amount of vegan options with its own section on the menu. I had a toastie and a hot chocolate on oat milk which were both really nice, and my partner had the lentil burger which was maybe a lil too healthy for us and huge.

Tasty vegan options not identified on menu - Edit
Asked for the vegan menu but was told they didn't have one, it was only the summer menu on the board. Only one vegan burger was labelled as vegan on the summer menu. The woman was happy to go through the menu with me about what could be made vegan which was the majority of the food. We had the tofu wrap and wrap #2 which was veggies and hummus. Was tasty but nothing special.

Decent food, some seats have fab views, needs better vegan options - Edit
Pilgrims is my usual go-to when visiting Husky and generally I've liked, not loved, the food. Limited vegan treats and a decent but not expansive vegan menu. It definitely feels more vegetarian from 10 years ago than modern vegan.
Read moreOn my most recent trip, on a very busy Sunday, they screwed up my order and I received the regular breakfast wrap instead of the vegan one. This despite me clearly asking for the vegan option and pointing at it on the menu when ordering. Staff didn't seem that concerned that they stuffed up the order but at least promptly made a replacement and it was delicious.
Annoyingly they even state on the menu to tell staff if you're ordering from the vegan menu. I get it, but maybe they could be more vegan-friendly and repeat an order when they take it (which is pretty standard for a restaurant) or if there are vegan and non-vegan items on the menu, any time a customer orders, say a breakfast wrap, they check with the customer if they want the vegan or non-vegan version. This would encourage people to consider the vegan option.
Pros: Location and views, Best option in town, Food can be great
Cons: Menu not expansive, limited vegan treats, Food can be hit-and-miss

Lovely vego cafe with lots of vegan - Edit
Pilgrims is a fabulous little spot away from the madding crowd but closer to the water for a great view. The specialist vegan menu has a lot of choices from savoury wraps to pancakes and bowls. The wrap is luscious and rich so don’t over order. The prices are very reasonable for the area. On Fridays and Saturdays they do a Mexican night which can be veganised easily. But these are the only evenings that it is open which is a shame since there are no other vegan places around Huskisson. A cool breakfast brunch lunch chill out place.

2 vegan options on the menu, the rest is vegetarian one burger one pie. Food takes a while to come out because they’re super busy but still worth the wait. Good selection of smoothies and juices too

Food worth the journey - Edit
Food was great! Huge servings, packed full of vegetables, and nice and fresh to boot. Very pleasantly surprised. Try the millennium burger, the curry patty combined with the sweet chilli sauce is unexpectedly delicious and more-ish

Nice setting and good vegan options. Food not overly exciting! - Edit
This is a good option in the Jervis Bay Area. There are quite a few vegan options, including a burger, pie and wrap. Coffee and juices also available. However the flavours aren’t hugely exciting.

Great also for take away - Edit
Very tasty, good quality and mostly healthy. We ordered the burrito and the north shore plate and 10 minutes later we were on our way to the beach where we enjoyed our Mexican dinner. If you don’t want the cheese, just tell them. Everyone is very friendly.

Peanuts in everything - Edit
I gave an extra star because the staff was nice about it, but the menu is not clear about their use of peanuts. I cannot eat there. Their menu only says to let them know if you have allergies. Because I, like most people, did not read the menu like a book, I did not see that part. With peanut allergies on the rise, they will be lucky if no one has a severe problem there.
