Very welcoming owner. We were in a rush to eat as we had a distillery tour booked, and nothing was too much bother.

I had the vegetarian Vegetable Supreme and asked to make it vegan using the vegan cheese.

Delicious pizza, vegan friendly - Edit
Had the vegan pizza on the menu, it was delicious. I'm not sure I'd recommend the 15" oblong pizza as it's not even larger than the 12" round one.

Chips are served in large portions and are fried in vegetable oil so suitable for vegans.
I'd recommend asking for a table upstairs when you book.

Really busy place in summer, book ahead or go at a non busy time. We tried vegan Margarita on classic base and made own veg pizza on the thicker focaccia base (sorry for putting on pineapple like weirdos!). Thicker base was the best in our opinion, the Marg needed a wee bit basil or órgano to be 100%. Owners are lovely and a great option for vegan travellers! Yum!

Great tasting vegan pizza very lovely and friendly staff. I also had a house salad which would normally come with feta cheese. It looked like the cheese was taken off the salad prior to serving, but I only realised this at the end. Still very tasty.

Whatever your diet, I would recommend trying out the gluten-free vegan option! It is better that regular wheat and dairy pizza! No compromising on taste, just incredible pizza. Whether you are local, or visiting beautiful Islay, the Peatzeria should be a must on your eat-out list. It really is a hidden gem! The best Pizza anywhere in the world (in my humble opinion) on the Hebridean Isle of Islay! I ordered a takeaway a gluten-free margarita with tomato, vegan mozzarella and fresh garden basil, drizzled with evoo, topped with sliced fresh tomatoes. My partner ordered a gluten-free, vegan of their signature dish, the Glasraich. We both thought the pizza was the best we have ever had, anywhere. The best part was the crispiest and thinnest base that crunched with each bite, the vegan mozzarella cooked to perfection, the tasty sauce and toppings - all perfect. The unique signature Glasraich pizza is something every pizza lover should try! I am local - and am so happy to have the Peatzeria near by! Definitely brightens up your day!

Read moreAs of September 2020, hours are limited and it’s takeaway only. The restaurant has great sea views, so I’d love to come back and eat-in when things have changed (all down to COVID, of course).
Vegan cheese isn’t listed on the menu, but as suggested by other reviewers, it is available on request. I emailed my order on Thursday to collect on Friday without issue. A shame the vegan cheese isn’t listed on the menu, as anyone not on HappyCow would be unlikely to know!

Modern pizzeria with nice decor that had vegan cheese as an option. It wasn't an option on the menu but we called a few days in advance and they were able to provide it. Pizza was very tasty too.

Bowmore doesn’t have much in the way of vegan-friendly cafes and restaurants, but Peatzeria does a lot to make up for that! The pizza I had here for dinner tonight (a margarita pizza with vegan cheese, mushrooms, pineapple, sweetcorn and jalapeños) was utterly delicious and incredibly filling, plus they had the option to have a soya milk latte which was made to perfection. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, and I believe this is a must-visit for any vegans staying in Bowmore.
