Serves meat, vegan options available. Peaberry Coffeebar can be found in front of a little city park in the historical centre of Ghent, between the cathedral and the castle of Gerald the Devil. Small convivial coffee bar with specialty coffee from Caffenation Roastery. Also has vegan pastries available. Open Mon-Fri 12:30-17:00, Sat-Sun 10:00-17:00.

Aangenaam buiten zitten - Edit

Really good slow brew coffee - Edit
Nice place in the city center of Ghent that serves specialty coffee from Caffenation in Antwerp. Great flavours are to be discovered in the slow brew filter coffee.

Basic cosy little cafe. - Edit
They got me with the name. I figured that a place called after a pea and a berry would be 100% vegan. It's not.
Read moreA peaberry is a type of coffee bean.
It's a little, hip coffeeplace that offers plant based milks, at an extra charge. There around eight tables inside, most of them suited for two to four people, one larger for a bigger group. The place is painted white, with a stretch of white paper stapled to the wall. The floor has tiles with a nice striped pattern.
The music is flowing in the background, kind of muffled by the noise of people talking. It's some sort of laidback soulful groove. (And The Living Is Easy {Guts} I Got The {Labi Siffre} All I Need {Air})
The personel is very friendly. I got a vegan cookie with my coffee. There was however no vegan pastry available at the time of my visit. They informed me there would be new vegan options in two weeks.
Conclusion: good place to get coffee, in close proximity to some essential sights when in Ghent. Maybe not the place to satisfy your craving for vegan sweetness.
Two stars only because of the lack of more vegan options. With those, they could easily add a star (or two).
Pros: Good coffee, has what a coffee shop needs, Friendly staff, Some vegan options
Cons: A bit rudimental, Not (many) vegan baked goods

Lots of vegan options - Edit
Very cozy café with an extensive list of diverse drinks. As far as I could see, all drinks were also available in vegan and you can choose between different plant based options. They’ve got always at least one vegan cake or sweet treat there. Staff is very friendly. Lots of people go there to work on school/uni/projects with their laptops.
