Vegan chicago style deep dish pizza - Edit
Reference the photo i posted of the vegan deep dish pizza. The pizza was good sized, with A LOT of sauce, possibly too much. Other ingredients included spinach, cheese, red onion, and garlic, each of which were proportioned out just right. If you dont know what chicago style deep dish pizza is i recommend you look it up, as the sauce is on top of the pizza. I think this might contribute to the heavy sauce loading. Even with this attribute, if you like pizza, i recommend trying this variation. Service and timeliness were fine. Bathrooms could use more tending.

Not worth it - Edit
They have vegan cheese but there was hardly any cheese on my pizza. Very underwhelming.

Good vegan pizza in a more “fast food” way - Edit
I really enjoyed my pizza, but it’s definitely not “gourmet.” A good order-in spot when the munchies hit hard. Love a spot where I can fully personalize each aspect of my pizza!

Cons: The vegan cheese is so-so

Chicago style pizza with Daiya cheese - Edit
One vegan pizza on the menu, but build your own is much tastier option. On Saturday evening it took 40 minutes which wasn't that bad. 12" deep pizza was easily enough for two so price wasn't too high.

Veganized chicago pizza - Edit
It is a pizzeria that serves both traditional and Chicago pizzas, with one vegan option in the regular menu. They offer to customize a pizza with any ingredient that they serve, included dayia vegan cheese which makes perfect to a vegan. The pizza is tasty and worth the price (quite expensive). When I ordered my Chicago pizza I was warned it'd take 45 min, so I find it a lot if time. However it was worth waiting.

Just A Nice Pizza, Surrounding Is Mwah - Edit
Pizza was just fine, I had the spinach pizza with days cheese and whole wheat crust. The pizza was very thin, like eating a cracker. Nice that they have the choice of vegan or non vegan cheese. Unfortunately there was a basketball match on TV and the sound of that TV was very loud so we and the people on the tables next to us almost needed to scream to have a conversation. Very annoying and not what I expect when eating at a restaurant. The whole experience makes me that I would not visit this restaurant again.

Cons: Very Very Noisy, 2 Very Big Tv's We're On, Including The Sound

Chicago-style pizza for everyone! - Edit
Patxi's on Fillmore is part of the Patxi's chain of restaurants in the bay area. They all offer a similar menu, with a few salads and appetizers, beer and wine, and most any pizza you could want. You choose from thin crust, regular pan pizza, and deep-dish (the latter two have a whole wheat option also). Add from a wide variety of toppings (they have animal flesh and lots of vegetables, no fake meats) and choose from four cheeses: two dairy options, SoyStation which is lactose-free but not vegan, and Daiya, my personal favorite vegan mozzarella substitute. This is a great place to take people who wrinkle their nose at the word "vegan" because, both in the menu and in the way the food looks and tastes, vegan varieties are placed at the same level as the rest of the food. So it's posed as just another option that is equally good, like green peppers vs. red peppers, not like here's the regular menu with the weird vegan stuff on the side (if that rings a bell with anyone else!).
Read moreMost Patxi's locations I've found difficult to park at, including this one, especially in the evening. Leave extra time for finding a spot, or order delivery. Warning: delivery at peak times like weekend evenings, especially if you get deep-dish pizza, can take a long time (3-4 hours at its worst!). You can order online or call.
The food and ambience are both that of a high-quality neighborhood restaurant, a step above a cheap pizza place but not fancy or pretentious. Good for a date or a group, although the restaurants aren't huge so you may have to wait to sit at busy times.
Pros: Many different vegan pizza combos, Gives back to community, Lively, enjoyable environment
Cons: Serves meat and dairy, Can take a long time
