Love the croissant

One of my favourite bakeries, since it offers more varied vegan pastries than many. The chocolate berry croissant is delicious.

Adorable bakery

Interior of the bakery was beautiful and all of the pastries looked so good.

I ended up getting a chocolate raspberry croissant, which was flaky and delightful.

Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area and craving something sweet.

The doors are comically heavy though. We got there around opening, and watched many people try to enter the bakery to walk away because they thought it was closed. We thought the same thing when we tried, until an employee ushered us in.

Pros: Vegan options

Beautiful

What a beautiful bakery. When you walk in the smell of freshly made cakes and bread is unbelievable! Unfortunately, they didn’t have any vegan croissants so I opted for a vegan cookie and coffee. It was very yummy but probably wouldn’t go back just down to lack of choice.

Pros: Beautiful bakery, Oat milk for coffee, Cookie was yummy

Cons: Not much vegan choice

Not as many as the pics

I guess they don’t always make everything from their vegan range, when I went in the morning they only had 2 pastries which were basically the same buns just different frosting colour. Anyway, the taste was really good!

Outrageously good

Got a chocolate covered croissant (has a little berry and cream filling) and a soy latte. I've had very few vegan croissants in my life but this one was AMAZING. And definitely the best coffee I had in Iceland. Also got a large cookie thing (oat with jam) to go and a donut. The cookie was sooooo delicious and big enough to split between two people. The donut was just ok, but I had saved it for several hours to eat on the plane ride. It was also somehow WAY cheaper than anywhere else I'd eaten in Iceland even though the inside appears very fancy. 2 croissants, 2 coffees, a cookie and a donut only cost around $20 USD.

Pros: Reasonably priced (for Iceland), Really nice spot to sit and hang out for a while, Many vegan options, really good coffee

Amazing ruibarb pie

Passion is a non vegan bakery which 3 vegan options: croissant coveres with chocolate and filled with cranberry jam, chocolate roll and a ruibarb pie. I tried the pie and it's great! They also have vegetable milk for the coffee. The atmosphere is very nice and quite. Definitely recommended!

Pros: friendly staff, great atmosphere, 3 vegan options

Cons: coffee is expensive

Great vegan options

The croisant was big covered with chocolate and had jam inside!!! Talk about perfection. my favourite was a snudur - a huge cinnamon bun covered in chocolate glazing - I'm going to die without having one again.

The place is right next to the botanical garden, a little bit outside of town hence why the prices are so reasonable. The staff werr really friendly and helpful.

The interior is nice, although was not very clean.

Pros: Amazing vegan buns, Good prices, Nice staff

Cons: Not very clean

AMAZING

This is the best bakery I've ever been to. I tried the raspberry and chocolate croissant, the chocolate cinnamon bun and some sort of sourdough (all vegan and huuuuge). Simply delicious. Not too pricey, also. About 2,5€ for each pastry and 7€ for the bread. The staff is very nice and will answer all your questions.

Five Stars!!

I have not had a croissant in 20 yrs since becoming vegan. Their vegan croissants were worth the wait!! OMG Delicious!! Their cranberry sourdough bread & Indian spiced sourdough bread were also delightful. The other two pastries available were just ok.

Pros: Vegan croissants that live up to the hype

Cons: Not a lot of other vegan offerings

Delicate, delicious pastry!

Pastries for me are a true treat. Flakey, layered, delicate pastries. Passion Reykjavik is outside of city center; therefore, a pain in the ass if you didn't rent a car. We took the bus, which took some navigating to figure out. Was it worth it? Yes! They had 2 options left when we arrived, a chocolate croissant and a cookie-thing.

The croissant was perfectly flakey and delicious. The cookie, which upon appearances didn't excite me at all, but ended up stealing the show. Remember those cookies in the tin at grandma's house over Christmas time? This cookie embodied that, and then some. So good. A biscuit dough with a berry jam interior. A window to my soul.

It's located in a strip mall. If you're looking to make the bus trip out there worth it (15 minutes with a 10 minute walk), I suggest packing a swim suit and going to Laugardalslaug, the most popular public swimming pool in town. It's walking distance from Passion, but unfortunately we didn't get directions beforehand and therefore got lost, unknowingly passing it in the huge park.

Pros: Croissants!, Cookies!, Coffee

Cons: Location, Wi-fi?

Love the vegan croissants

I keep coming back for the vegan croissants and will go out of my way on my way out of town to get them. I usually don't even eat bakery items or wheat products at all, but I don't remember the last time I had a croissant before this place. I prefer the orginal, non-filled ones, but the sweet ones (with raspberry-marzipan filling and chocolate on top) are also great.

Pros: vegan croissants, good coffee, marked vegan selections

Cons: sometimes run out of vegan croissants

Great stop on the way out of town

This bakery is a little outside the centre of the city in a more residential area, but it's convenient if you're heading out to explore the rest of the island. It's a great location to pick up some nice fresh vegan bread - it's tough to find bakeries outside the main towns nevermind anyplace that understands vegan. They have an amazing curry bread and plenty of other kinds of loaves. The pastries are really good too - try the vegan croissants with raspberries and chocolate. They also have huge vegan cinnamon buns. It's a great place to stop and pick up supplies on your way out of Reykjavik!

Pros: vegan croissants!, curry bread!

Vegan croissants! Need I say more?

For vegans, it is definitely worth the drive from the center of town to visit Passion. It's a bakery and tearoom. They call themselves an internet cafe, so I suppose there is free wifi, but I never checked. They have a lot of vegan bread, which is harder to find in Reykjavik than you might expect. If you are planning on leaving the city, you will probably want bread for picnics, and this is the place to get it.

They also have vegan pastries, although both times we were there, it was only croissants. However, that is nothing to complain about, because they were incredible. The staff is friendly and will tell you what is vegan, although most things are labeled. I don't know what butter substitute they use in the croissants, but they are indistinguishable from non-vegan croissants.

If you're buying bread, go early in the day because they do sell out.

Pros: vegan croissants, friendly staff, lots of vegan breads

Cons: sells out of bread
