Really really good food!! - Edit
I’ve been here twice in the past month after just having discovered it. Small restaurant that’s very unassuming with really good food! Most of the menu is vegan, and I loved everything I tried. The bissara and ful were the standouts. A little pricy for the size of the portions and the restaurant eating area is nothing special, but I will be back!

Yummy and unique - Edit
We ordered a dinner for two from Papyrus and it was delicious! I liked that they included information of how to eat the food (in what order and with what). I did feel it was slightly overpriced for the portions but overall, I would order again!

Great Egyptian food - Edit
This is the only Egyptian restaurant in Toronto that I know of. If you're craving Koshari or Ful & Tamiya then that's the place to go. If you're unfamiliar with Egyptian cuisine it's worth a try at least once. Friendly service. Egyptian ambience. Great for dine in or takeout.

Bad Value for the money - Edit
We went for the sharing menu for my brother’s birthday. I already thought that it was overpriced but when they charged me an extra 4 dollars for a second pita type bread, I was not thrilled. I asked to talk to manager to let him know that I had not liked this policy. He was aware that the service was not good. He mentioned it to me first as he knew I was aware that he had given a free take home fish to the next table apologizing for the bad service. He was made aware that when I asked about the dessert that took a little longer to prepare the server had said “we just ran out” when the truth was it took a little longer to prepare. We ordered the home made ice cream instead, which he just served in the paper take out container, not taking the time to present it properly.

Cons: 1 pita for 2 people for an expensive sharing set, The service , The high prices (value for money)

Fantastic and Friendly - Edit
The vibe is immediately different when you enter this little gem - you can feel the absolute love for the food that the owner puts into everything he does, and he clearly instills this in the rest of his staff. Two vegans, we ordered several dishes and loved it all. With dessert as well we practically rolled out of the place we were so full.

Really tasty - Edit
I was so excited to try this place that I'd read about in BlogTO. The food exceeded my expectations: so much care and attention went into it, and it was extremely flavourful and delicious. The owner and our server were really friendly, which is always nice. I'll be back for sure.

Authentic and tasty - Edit
This is a vegetarian (mostly vegan) Egyptian place on the Danforth, just across from Big Carrot. We shared the Ful and Tameya Platter and Koshari Plate. Ful is fava beans (kind of like retried beans), tameya is the Egyptian version of falafel, made from fava beans and herbs and crispy on the outside. The platter came with salad, bread, lentil hummus and tahini. Koshari is a Cairo favourite - a delicious mix of lentils, rice, macaroni pasta, tomato sauce and fried onions. Everything on the menu is clearly marked as vegan or containing dairy, and everything was super fresh and tasty. My Egyptian partner grew up in Cairo and he was also impressed. Great service.

Fresh, flavourful & friendly - Edit
All thumbs up! Most of the dishes here are vegan and rich in flavours and textures. We had the Koshari and the Ful, plus a vegan version of their Konafa dessert. Wow: so many unique items to try and our gracious host (owner, I presume) was attentive and concerned about our experience. He took time to explain the different items and preparation processes. This was a lovely experience in a bright, clean, attractive little place. Want to go back tomorrow!

Casual but delicious! - Edit
The owner was so friendly and explained the whole menu to us. It's like a falafel joint but Egyptian. We had two different sandwiches and they were both great! The dessert was also delicious. Would highly recommend if you need a quick bite.

Great new place to try on the Danforth - Edit
Small, bright, cheery spot, spotlessly clean with tiny patio that was full on a warm summer day. Attentive, friendly staff. The owner personally explained the individual dishes and came by the table to check on us, which we appreciated. Shared the Koshari and Roast Vegetable with Mint Tea as a beverage. All were excellent with meticulous detail in the presentation. Generous quantity. The mint tea was actual mint leaves not just a tea bag. The lemon sorbet for dessert was outstanding. The main dishes were nicely spiced and delicious. Everything about this gem of a restaurant reflects the owner's love of food and pride in his culture. This place is a wonderful addition to the Danforth and its many cuisines. Highly recommended.
