The honorary fifth star this place deserves: 🌟 - Edit
This is my new favourite cafe ever. Rachel the owner was so welcoming as soon as me and my friends walked in, and the atmosphere was so warm and relaxed - more like an eclectic family kitchen than a café. There is a huge rainbow chalk board full of drawings and games and books and a donation point for second hand clothes for anyone who needs. And as much vegan cake as your heart desires! We made friends with the girls on the table next to us and chatted with Rachel past closing time. I would love to return again some day when I am in York again.

Wonderful LGBTQ friendly cafe with lovely vegan options - Edit
A friendly and welcoming cafe. Great for children. As soon as we arrived the owner gave our kids a basket of fidget toys and books to keep them busy so we could relax. Mainly tea, coffee (with oat milk etc), vegan cakes and snacks. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in York.

The vibes are immaculate - Edit
If you're part of the LGBTQ community, this little place will feel like home! The abundant pride flags, quotes and wonderful blackboard decorated by likeminded visitors give such a safe, empowering atmosphere, and the bookshop downstairs is well worth a visit too!
Read moreThe sweet vegan options were great - the cake, milkshakes & ice cream all looked wonderful. For me, the main downfall is that the only savoury option is a basic toastie. I did enjoy it, but hopefully someday the menu will expand! Regardless, I highly recommend popping by at least for coffee and cake and perhaps a book or two. Support local queer businesses! 🏳️🌈
Pros: Great decorations and atmosphere, V nice sweet options, Cute bookshop downstairs
Cons: More savoury options would be nice

Cute, grassroots, dog friendly, LGBTQ+ cafe - Edit
This place seems to be a bit of a pillar of the community! Of course I came in for a coffee but then realised they also have vegan cakes!!! I had the cinnamon slice & it was filling & decadent. My dog Sybil was with me & she was also welcome & a big hit with other patrons & staff (she loves to meet new people - so was very happy!!!)
