Best of the Algarve 3 - Edit
Ab-so-lu-tely amazing. This restaurant deserves a vegan Michelin star. My bf asked if the cooking lady could move in with us so she can cook for us. Lol. Amazing staff, the best (!) vegan cheese platter ever, the best (!) vegan curry and the burger is also lovely. Thank you for your good care and we.will.come.back. In between I would like to give some advice to upgrade to first floor and to make it more cozy with better lighting and some plants, just like downstairs. Other than that, the food is lovely 3

Vegan excellence made in Faro ! - Edit
By far the very best vegan restaurant in Faro ! The food and drinks are fresh, delicious and made with such great care and love. In addition the space is very welcoming, zen, and the staff is so friendly. You won’t come accross such a gem many times. Have gone and returned several times over the last month when visiting the city. Try it for yourself and you’ll know what I’m talking about. I also love the fact the restaurant is environmentally conscious and zero waste. Bravo to Outro lado’s team for offering such a great vegan culinary experience in Faro. Love it ! Obrigada and wishing you continued success ✨❤️✨

Incredible place - Edit
After a week of heavy partying, barely eating and no sleep the night before, I was over the moon to come across this beautiful place while waiting for a train in Faro, really couldn’t believe my luck. The food was excellent (and all vegan) and very good value. The service was perfect and the staff were so lovely, I only wish I could have stayed longer to speak to them more.

Fantastic... - Edit
...Saturday night which I spent here with my friend. This was by far the best vegan redtaurant in Faro which we visited. Their menu is not too big but that is absolutely fine. The staff is very friendly. The waiter recommended me to try the cheesecake for dessert which I did not regret😄

This place has everything. The ambiance of the yoga studio and restaurant is warm, inviting, and very peaceful. The staff was friendly and caring. The. Food. Wow... For 10€ you can get the lunch special which includes a starter, juice of the day, soup, main course, dessert and coffee. I was so satisfied with all components of the meal that I don't think I left one bite untouched. The menu offers vegetarian, vegan, and even raw options. May I suggest the brownie for dessert, as it is rich, smooth, and pairs excellent with the house-blended coffee. Definitely a highlight of my trip.

Best vegan food I had in Portugal. Herbs, taste, veggies... all high quality. And best feeling place. A must. Do not miss. All good things said here are true. If you happen to be on your way to Monte Sahaja, eat here before catching your train! Has some wonderful things on sale also, such as fresh figs and best ground coffee. ❤️🙏🏽

Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely place to eat! - Edit
We popped into Faro before our flight to check this place out and and are so glad that we did. We left feeling full and fully nourished for only 10€ each. The menu was set with soup, bread and a pate to start. Plus a choice of freshly squeezed juice. We could then choose from 3 main dishes We each had a burger (one black bean and one chickpea) served with cous cous and salad - they were delicious! For dessert we had ice cream and then coffee. An absolute feast considering we were offered refills on bread and juice too! A must visit 💕

Nice wee place. - Edit
Not a massive section on the menu but plenty for me & my girlfriend, it is understandable to keep the overheads /waste down.
Read moreThe food was great, we started with some bread, pesto & soup, had the chickpea burger with cous cous and salad then finished with an avocado mousse - all for 10 euros each with drinks included.
I was going to offer a tip but noticed there was a fund to help with rescued animals that the owners look after on their property. The animals got the tip :)
We had already tried the other vegan place in Faro but outro lado blows it out the water.
Pros: great food, great price
Cons: selection, but again not really avoidable and wha

Such a treat - Edit
We had a couple of hours in Faro before our plane and this was the best place to spend them! We had a magnificent three-course menu plus juice plus tea, all cooked on the premises from local organic produce. The chef (Stephanie) was so charming and chatted to us about the restaurant and its ethics. A lovely building. A great welcome, good food. Highly recommended.

You won't leave hungry - Edit
I visited this restaurant while in Faro recently. The ambiance is lovely, very relaxing. The staff were really friendly and also showed me some photos of the beautiful animals they have rescued. They served 3 courses and a drink for 10 euros which was really good value. There is a choice of two main courses and I'm pretty sure the menu is different every day, though unfortunately I only made it there once. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Great find for lunch - Edit
Looking for a Vegan restaurant for lunch in Faro on December 24th, Happy Cow led us to Outro Lado. What a find this was! First, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, and the chef explained to us the menu of the day and her approach to cooking - done on a lovely old wood burning stove. We had an appetizer, then a three course lunch followed by coffee that was really satisfying and tasty, as well as inexpensive. We would highly recommend Outro Lado to anyone, whether vegan or not.

The best place to go in Faro - Edit
Our experience of eating here was a bit like this:
Read moreit’s down a lot of unlikely winding roads and is on two floors. First floor is like a shop with a lot of vegetables and there is a woman and Anya would like all of them including the little apples but she can’t. She asks, ‘Restaurant? Restaurant?’ and we say yes and she points us upstairs. It’s huge and has two levels upon one is various soft Indian cushions some of which are white. It’s all decorated in an expensive hippy style, fancy cushions hanging off the walls and we go and sit down. The man approaches. He gives us a wine list and no menu. We order rose wine. We have a discussion about a bottle but go for two glasses and he asks us if we want large ones with a big smile and we say yes. Then the woman comes over and says, ‘Do you know how it works?’ and she recites that it is cooked on a wooden stove like her grandmother cooked on and it is 10 euros for everything. Duncan agrees with everything with a big smile as he is enjoying this greatly. We get a carrot with vinegar soup. Main dish is cous cous and we love it as it is really our cup of tea and it so cumminy. We love spicy food and it well-prepared. She asks if Duncan want some more and Duncan is back like a little kid and she scrapes what is out of the pan onto the plate. She says that Duncan has to eat it all up with the emphasis on up. Two desserts – first one is a small vegan dish followed by blended papaya fruit which is more than the right number of desserts suggesting we are getting overly spoilt. The man comes with coffee by which time nobody says no to anything – in this little metal cup is the most brilliant coffee with coconut sugar. Overall - a brilliant experience that left us with a warm glow of good food and having being treating like royalty as we walked off into the streets. This is a once in a life-time experience.
Pros: Three courses (or four in our case) and coffee , Super nice people that really believe in it, The food is fantastic

lovely owners - Edit
We did not get a chance to eat here. We went one afternoon before dinner. They did not require reservations as it says for dinner and invited us back the next evening. I do not think they do dinner everyday but they have lunch. The owners were so friendly and nice. We bought some organic vegetables from them and they let us taste the almond cheese they sell.
Read moreThe woman owner, who cooks and teaches yoga, has been all over India for the last 20 years to study and practice yoga. I would have loved to try her cooking that they do in a wood stove. (and her yoga) The products are from their farm outside the town. They were both very kind and welcoming to us when we wandered in. I gave them an excellent rating because of their produce and their warm welcome to us. Please try their food and let us know!
