Incredible - Edit
Hands down the best meal I had in Faro. Thoughtfully designed, delicious, well balanced and beautifully presented dishes. Lovely service. I really felt cared for. They even gave us a little shot of cherry brandy on the house with our bill (they either overheard it was my birthday and offered it as a kind treat or they do it for everyone, not totally sure!). Amazing meal and experience. 10/10 would recommend. If I return to Faro, I'm eating a few more meals here as well!

Loved it. - Edit
Very cute little vegan restaurant. The food was really good and tasty. Especially the croquette balls filled with melted cheese. We also had the burger and avocado toast. No space for dessert but it looked good.
Read moreWould advise you go here for a leisurely experience as the food is cooked to order and therefore slow to arrive. It took 30 mins for us to order and receive a bottle of water for example. This wasn’t an issue for us as we were killing time before our flight back home. The service was very friendly.
Well worth the waiting time for the good quality food. Highly recommend.
Pros: Freshness of food , Clean, Friendly service
Cons: Slow (but worth the wait)

Starters: Really enjoyed the Mushrooms Bulhão Pato; the octopus salad was also nice.
Read moreRegarding the mains: would not order again the fishy tofu with tomato rice, as the tofu lacked flavour (it relied on the algae placed around it). The seitan pernil was nice and had a nice texture, but we found it slightly too salty.
The pineapple fresh juice was nice!
Pros: Staff, Flavours, Recreatian of Portuguese cuisine
Cons: Restrictive opening hours/days, Desserts are not very diverse, Pricey

huge portions - Edit
It was nice to have a fully vegan restaurant serving “traditional” Portuguese food. The portions were way too big for us, although we were really hungry and only shared an appetiser. The staff was great and the atmosphere too! Next time I’d order either several appetisers to share or only a main and no appetiser per person. The price is fair for what you get. The rating only isn’t five stars, because we discovered that the Portuguese cuisine just isn’t for us (a bit too heavy).

Insanely good Portuguese food! - Edit
The food was absolutely delicious! When all the options we found elsewhere we're burgers, pizza or dishes from other far away countries, it was fantastic to finally be able to try some vegan Portuguese food on our visit. Every dish we tried was delicious, and we would highly recommend the cheese platter too. The fish stew and roasted duck dish we're definitely highlights. Service with a smile throughout and they were so helpful too. Would love to go back soon!

Best vegan restaurant in faro - Edit
Very nice discovery with this 100% vegan restaurant that offers traditional Portuguese dishes. We were delighted during the whole dinner.
Read moreWe loved thé fresh juices that are made "minute" and in large quantities for a very reasonable price!
We also particularly liked the starters.
The prices are higher than in some restaurants, but it’s definitely worth it! The portions are very generous and the dishes are quite elaborate and very well presented.
A must-see vegan in Faro, I will definitely go back
!! It's very busy it's better to book !!

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT! Beyond delicious...!! - Edit

I went with family, and I think it was the best restaurant I've eaten in until today... Since 2018 I have been going to a lot of vegan places, throughout a bunch of european countries, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium... But this one was really excellent. Typical portuguese dishes adapted to perfection... The francesinha almost made me cry when I tasted it... The tofu "fish" was so perfect we all couldn't believe it, from the "skin" to the pasty texture... Delicious! And the seitan shank... Ai ai... It was as if it really had fat!! Delicious, very, truly. The entries divine, the dishes out of this world and the dessert is to cry for. We all loved everything so much we wouldn't stop congratulating the chef and team for the incredible work🫶🫶 a super nice place, cozy, friendly and intimate service, with the best menu I've ever tasted... Incredible experience. This restaurant is a must visit!!!

World-Class Cuisine - Edit
Outro Lado transcends the vegan label. It is a world-class restaurant with thoughtfully created dishes with effortlessly balanced taste, texture, and presentation.
Read moreThe true revelation: the seitan—It has skin and a layer of fat, bathing in a beefy sauce that balances the acidity of wine, mushroom, and other salty flavors.
The Francescina has a beefy tomato (ravioli style) sauce topped with a gooey cheese melt. The seitan strips, soaking up the sauce, add a meaty texture.
Picau Pahau delicately mixes acidic vinegar wine and vegetables with the meaty seitan, served with bread to soak up any leftover drops.
I have traveled the world, visiting and reviewing hundreds of vegan restaurants, in search of vegan cuisine. The number of experiences that compared to Outro Lado, I can only count on one to two hands. Well done.
Pros: Quality, Craftsmanship, Atmosphere

Everything was amazing! I had such a lovely meal here and wish I could come back and try the whole menu. So nice to be able to try veganised versions of traditional dishes. The atmosphere and service was incredible too, so friendly and cosy. The wait time wasn't even too long for food either, I expected longer as they have a sign saying slow food. Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be back the next time I'm in Faro!

Super nice looking interior. The vibes of the restaurant are great.
Read moreAs a starter we went for the croquettes. They tasted like chorizo, super delicious! However they were a bit salty.
As a main we went for the . The Francesinha and the Seitan Shank.
Francesiha: super “cheesy”, awesome cheese flavor. In my opinion the sauce was way too salty. It would have been so nice to have some vegetables or a fresh salad with it.
Seitan shank: the flavors were not that interesting sadly
For desert we had the Banoffee. AMAZING!
Overall 3,5 stars. I would go back to taste the other dishes ☺️
