Wonderful fully vegan restaurant - Edit
Our food at this small restaurant in Faro was fabulous. We loved the wife and husband team who managed all aspects of the restaurant from preparing the food to serving the customers. The food captured the essence of traditional Portuguese food prepared vegan. A true gem.

Great hidden gem in Faro - Edit
We had a cheese board with what I think was all homemade cheeses and they were all amazing. It was a bit pricey but definitely worth the money and that in itself made us pretty full. The main courses was amazing too and we were happy we could try some of the lokal cuisine. We'll definitely come back before we leave Faro.

We are very happy we found this small but lovely place in Faro. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. Although there is plenty of choice - several starters, main dishes and desserts. You get here some traditional portuguese food like Francesinha or seafood inspired dishes.

We were happy to get a table here for dinner. There were already people queuing up before opening, and the restaraunt filled up quickly (make sure to reserve if you can!)
Read moreThe food was gorgeous. Even the fruit on the cheese board was very fresh. We all enjoyed our meals, and got too full for dessert. It was nice to have the flavour and experience of traditional Portuguese dishes, with a taste of the sea from seaweed.
We only wish there was more cheese on the cheese board to share, and more of the lovely bread!
Highly recommended when visiting the Faro area.
Be prepared to wait around an hour for food (at least if you come close to opening). As the sign on the wall says, "This is slow food", which is definitely worth the wait.
Pros: Perfectly priced
Cons: (I think) not accesible for wheelchairs (steps)

Fantastic Vegan Restaurant - Edit
We were so happy to have found this wonderful vegan restaurant in Faro. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. I ordered the croquettes and a salad of heart of palm and potatoes and both were fresh and savory and so good! My husband ordered some panko style fried beans that were light and crispy and a baked tofu and cornbread dish that was the best tofu dish he had ever tasted. Nice selection of wines and the sangria was in a class by itself - just divine!

Delicious homemade food. The menu changes from time to time and you can try some typical Portuguese food veganized. Staff is very friendly and the setting is very cosy. Right in the city center close to the bus and train terminals.

Some of the best vegan food I’ve had in Portugal! - Edit
Outro Lado was incredible! They veganize Portuguese specialties and do a bangin job of it. We started with a pitcher of the red sangria, a must try, and the Francesinha as a main course. The flavors were to die for, and the vegan egg on top was incredibly eggy! It also came with circular French fries and a mouth-watering aioli dip. All in all an incredible experience that I will be dreaming about for many moons. FYI that the food is freshly cooked, so it may take 30 minutes to be served… but it is well worth the wait! Make a reservation too, to be safe

I had the honor to eat at Outro Lado a few months ago on holiday. The food was AMAZING. The best food I’ve ever had. We came back a few evenings in a row. The staff, owner and his wife that worked as a chef all took care of us in such a friendly and warm way. Can not get better. I recommend to always do starters and main course. Don’t miss this!

Never had this experience before. Really very interesting options. The "egg" was amazing. Incredible to recreate Portuguese dishes the vegan way because as as foreigners we wouldn't otherwise try local food. Felt like we had a dining out experience. The owner is very hospitable and tells you how the dishes are made. Compliments to the chef. Please book.
