Beer food

This was my first time eating poutine. I went with a group of friends and we all ate every bite of our huge portions. Definitely beer food - you need something to wash it down with. The vegan version leaves off the curds and adds some shredded vegan cheese instead. I probably would just skip the vegan cheese next time - doesn’t really add much to the dish. Overall, though, pretty good.

Wee merci

The name of this truck is quite clever. "Wee" is an ulsterism that serves to show affection as well as mumsy-fy. It also pays homage to the French Canadian roots of the eponymous poutine dish. So now you know how clever the name is, what's the food like?
Well, it's great. Think gravy chip with cheese curds (veggie, vegan cheese also offered), peas and peppers. Have only had this once and very much enjoyed. £5.50 for a hearty, warm, tasty meal.
As I love ice hockey (that's why I don't support the belfast giants folks- panthers and devils ftw!!) I hit up Timmy Hortons straight after as it's only right. Follow up with a public skate dodging 5 year old human missile figure skaters at Fundonald.
What is sad as this place is only really accessible by foot, located near the mosaic fish and Lagan footbridge. Also check their social media to make sure is open, currently only does Fri and sat lunches. They had a stall in the xmas market too. Great, please expand guys!!

Update: had the spicy bean offering too. Got a poutine filled to bursting with canellini beans, peas, mushrooms, pickled onions and a mildly spicy salsa that complimented the curds and gravy very well. Also should say offers some sweet things - traybake like and does grilled cheese sandwich. But of course the star of the mini menu is the poutine. Does vegan gravy and vegan curds btw. If you want a close by park space there's a car park opposite side of road in laganbank bus centre at £2.50/ hour
