Great breakfast spot by the river - Edit
It's not easy finding a breakfast spot in Osaka since most restaurants don't open until 11am, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this place was great! It offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, and the location by the river is a great way to enjoy breakfast.
Read moreIt's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and some breakfast while taking in the beautiful scenery. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Great food. I went for a late lunch and breakfast the next day. Both were fantastic. The Buddha Bowl and the English breakfast were both good choices for me.

Great vegan food; beautiful riverside view - Edit
Came in for breakfast around 9:30 AM on a weekday. The place was fairly empty. There were blankets for those sitting at the patio (since it was quite chilly outside and also some of the seats are made of metal). Breakfast menu consisted of various toasts and a small breakfast plate

My kind of place - Edit
Completely plant-based and mellow lunch café with the most delicious and healthy rice bowls, wraps, smoothies and sweets. The soy meat might be some of the best I’ve had. The first page in the menu had a list of recommended documentaries to educate yourself on veganism and environmental issues, which I think is a great idea. Nice view on the Tosahori river too. Optimus Café is my kind of place.

Good but not special - Edit
The food was tasty but not very special per se. I did like it but it’s mainly a western concept. Also relatively expensive

Overrated and expensive - Edit
Food was anything but special and very expensive. They wouldn't allow to put extra protein powder into any smoothie, only to the one that already had protein in it. Salad consisted of a couple of sad leaves of kale (raw, not massaged) with a couple of nuts on top.
Read moreThe seating arrangement is also not very good, very small tables and the whole space is just overstuffed.
Only good thing: their ice cream sandwich.

Optimus lunch - Edit
We had the buddha bowl and curry. If you miss the lunch menu (until 15), you can still get the same meals for the same price, just stripped of salad. Buddha bowl was delicious, each ingredient seasoned with care, curry tasty but on the small side. I also recommend their homemade ginger ale. If you are lucky enough (as we were), you can sit outside - certainly better option, as the kitchen is open/does a lot of frying.

Nice view, typical menu - Edit
The restaurant had a sort of American beach vibe. Decently varied menu, and the food was good but nothing spectacular. I had the buddha bowl, karaage and tiramisu. It was decent but nothing spectacular. The view of the river is really nice though.

Food served all day - Edit
Happy Cow says it closes at 3pm but it's actually open until 5pm weekdays (6pm weekends). 'Lunch service' ends at 3pm, but there is a whole other food menu with buddha bowls, pasta, salads, tacos etc that you can still order from after. It's also open for breakfast from 8:30.
Read moreI dropped in for a late lunch at 3:15pm after some errands at the city hall (just across the river). Inside only has 2-person tables so a large group would have to sit outside which is lovely in summer and spring, but maybe a bit cold in winter.
I had a milk tea and the Buddha bowl, which consisted of falafel, brown rice, hummus, avocdo and several salads. The portion size isn't very big, but it was enough for me for lunch. The price came to about 1,600yen which is about average for vegan cafes in Osaka.
Pros: Nice riverside, outdoor terrace , Convent for Osaka city hall, Lots of fresh, healthy veggies
Cons: Inside has only 2-person tables, Portions maybe a little small for some people

This restaurant is located riverside and it takes 5 minutes from Yodoyabashi Osaka Metro, near by Nakanoshima rose garden. They provide completely meatless and you can also have gluten free pasta. I highly recommend you Buddha bowl which contain fried spicy soy meat, avocado, Sautéed mushrooms etc.. Terrace seats are available.
