Great beer, all vegan food but expensive - Edit
I had the classic burger with french fries and Bitterballen. The mayo was amazing and tasted so real and the fries were great, too. The burger was a little bit basic but had a delicious avocado sauce on it. Great Bitterballen, friendly staff.

Yum! - Edit
I visited this place a few weeks ago, but it had been in my wishlist for a long time. The food itself did not disappoint. I got the loaded fries with jackfruit, which didn’t feel greasy at all. I really loved it. However, I do feel it’s overpriced. If the ambiance were different and you get more contact with the staff this MIGHT be justified, but you order through QR (their machine was broken, you normally can also order at the bar). They also used to have a more extensive menu from what I saw on HappyCow and their website.

Good food, pricy and loud - Edit
I went here with a group of people. The food is really good and the portion sizes are big enough. They prefer you order online, by using a QR code. Drinks and foods are delivered quite fast.
Read moreWhen we were here, a live band starting playing and that produced so much noise, that you almost couldn't hear the other table guests anymore. That's too bad, because going out for diner should be about having a pleasant conversation, instead of shouting at each other. Advise is to check if a live band is scheduled, and then go at another time.
Also, the prices are quite high. 6 euros for a beer, 18 euros for a loaded fries.
Pros: Good food, Friendly personnel, Glutenfree options
Cons: Too expensive, Can be very noisy, especially with a live band

Vegan gluten free made easy - Edit
Oproer is a lovely big space that feels cosy and casual. It's very easy to spend a couple of hours here.
Read moreObviously more important than the space is what they serve. The menu is fully vegan and there are many gluten-free options to choose from as well. We have never been to a pub before where they had 4 gluten-free vegan beers on tap! We tried the Uncut IPA and the 24/7, both of which were very tasty.
We also tried the Classic Burger (good), Fries Rendang (very good), papadums (good) and the bitterballen (delicious).

Relaxed atmosphere - Edit
Very attractive place with a relaxed atmosphere. Large, yet cozy because of the corners created with all kinds of different vintage furniture.

Great that everything here is vegan, although I suspect that the average non-vegan will certainly get their money's worth here too. I have tasted brownies and bitterballen and they were delicious. Another great thing is that the word vegan or plant-based is not specifically mentioned. It was only mentioned on the menu that everything is 100% vegetable.
If it's up to me, I'll definitely come back here more often!

Great atmosphere, disappointing food - Edit
This was the first time I went to the new location; it seems the kitchen / staff is completely new too and not yet at the level it was before. The food - Turkish pizza and the beet bourgignon - was disappointing and we didn’t even finish our plates. Aside from that, the atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, home brewed beers etc. Many students come here.

Hey what a shame. They did not really have a chef back then. They have a new professional chef now and the food is amazing. Hope you can give it another try 😇

Het eten was echt heerlijk en de sfeer erg goed. We waren met onze dochter van 2,5 en ze hadden ook voor haar ruime keuze en genoeg te doen in de speelhoek. Wij gaan zeker weer!

We had to wait for our food quit some time. When it finnaly arrived my food came 15 minutes later than my friend. So i watch her eat. When she was more or less finished eating it was my turn. I prefer to eat toghter. Food is good. Only overpriced for a small burger/hotdog. Staff was very friendly though.

Room for approvement - Edit
I made a reservation for Oproer a couple of days ago. Always heard good things about the food. Already looked on the menu at home what I would want to get. My boyfriend and I wanted to do the shared dining, because we already had fries and snacks the day before. (For the record: except the shared dining food, the rest on the menu of Oproer were mostly snacks / fast food)
Read moreWhen we came there, the staff was nice and friendly.
We wanted to order 4 or 5 things from the shared dining menu. In total there were 6 things on the shared dining menu. For all the items we wanted to order, the waitress told us it was out of stock. How is that even possible on a Sunday? We even made a reservation, so you know people come to eat. We ended up ordering the 2 items that were left from the shared dining menu, although we didn't even want those (those didn't belong to our selection), and also ended up ordering fries and bitterballen, because there was not many left to choose...
The food we got from the shared dining menu was by the way fine. But a bowl of lentils, 3 artichokes, fries and bitterballen are not a complete meal. Or a nice meal I would go out for. I would have appreciated it if they called me to say a lot of food is out of stock. I wouldn't have come that day. We could have changed dates.
After all: You can make a first impression once.
It was quite a disappointment.
