Amazing 11/10 stars, fave restaurant - Edit
All-time favorite restaurant hands down! Their milkshakes are to die for, along with the Southern Pulled BBQ sandwich. Their burgers too, are unbeatable.

Worth the wait - Edit
I stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon so it took some time to both order and receive my food. I ordered the Bacon Ranch Burger and it was delicious! As I waited I saw the food prep and was impressed with the care that went into each item. The acai bowls looked amazing!

Good Flavor, But Overly Priced for What It Is - Edit
My boyfriend and I got the BLT and Southwest Melt. We split them 1/2 and 1/2 and I honestly couldn’t tell which was which because they had pretty much the same ingredients, just different bread and one had jalapeños. Both tasty, but $12 tax tip and it’s an average vegan sammy with no side included. I get it’s downtown, but just seems overpriced just because they can be/since it’s vegan. I also got cookies and a cake pop, but they were all kind of dry. Sugary/tasted good! But I had to eat them all over the course of a few days (and I’m usually a dessert fiend) since it was so dry. Oh, and 20% tip was automatically clicked unless you changed it for online ordering, which kind of annoyed me since I’m picking up the order and not sitting down at a restraint or anything…but otherwise, cute spot and decent food!

Went to On the Bus for breakfast. It was nice that it was open earlier than other stalls (which also meant everyone there early HAD to eat vegan because it was the only food stall open). And everyone was happy!

Great concept / service lacking - Edit
Have been going here ever since they opened. Not sure if the pandemic changed things or not, but they really seem to struggle with making the right sandwich, fulfilling orders in a timely manner and just general customer service at the counter.

We often order pick up to take to a Brewer game. Half of the time, the order is not ready at the specified time. Getting the wrong sandwich happens more often than it comes out right.
Update 8-24-2024: Once again, tried pickup and got a horrible excuse for a sandwich. BLT was suppose to have spring mix and avocado, but both were missing. Sandwich seemed smaller than normal and definitely lacking. See pic.

Also, I ordered ahead of time because all the reviews said it was super busy on a friday night, but there was like no one there. So I don’t know.

Those sandwiches are a work of art. We had the Reuben and the Club sandwich and they were both amazing and seasoned to perfection. The service is very good, the crew is super cool and the prices are fair. If you like ice cream and smoothies, you are also covered.

so happy to find this place! got food here twice on my 3 day stay. the bacun ranch burger was suuuper good, also got the spicy italian which was good as well but i preferred the burger. lots of bowls/milkshakes but didn’t get to try those. love to support fully vegan restaurants!!!!

Read more03/18/2024: I still love that On The Bus is one of the few all-vegan restaurants in the city, but I feel like their quality has decreased in the past few years. AND they no longer offer fries (or even chips) - what's a burger without fries! Their desserts are awesome though :)

Baked goods looked delicious, bought a plate of cookies for Xmas. Had a Rueben, it was pretty good although the bread tasted a bit stale. Wanted the club but they were out of Seitan and avocado.

Club sandwich was great but it did take longer than you’d expect. It’s mainly an issue because it’s in a larger indoor market so there’s no room to sit and the standing area is out where everyone trying to walk by. The VW bus is awesome and the food was worth the wait

Wonderful options, enough different options to choose from. I am from out of Milwaukee by a few hours but when I’m in town for events it’s one of my “go to” stops! Delicious food and drinks! Great staff!

Lots of great options for breakfast, lunch, and treats. The Biscoff cookie shake was amazing, as were the cookies and brownies at the counter. My husband really liked the Cuban. The club was okay - the mustard was overpowering. Sandwiches are large and one will easily feed two people.

The blueberry almond smoothie was wonderful, but you really have to like almond forward flavor, which I do. The avocado toast was really yummy as well.

Worth going to Milwaukee Public Market just to go here. We got the Cuban sandwich and the pulled bbq sandwich. Both were great. There is a shared seating area with the other restaurants at the market to sit at so nice option to go to with vegan and nonvegan friends.

Nice options and reasonably priced. Pretty long wait for our order; recommend to order ahead. The Italian sandwich was good and the Bus Burger was pretty average. You always want a dedicated vegan spot to shine but my wife's feedback was that it felt like a burger you'd get as an option at a mixed restaurant.
