Great vegan lunches/dinners, amazing cakes - Edit
I had a disappointing first visit, but luckily I tried Olivka a few more times, because I had some great food here. Not recommended for breakfast, but very much recommended for lunch, dinner, and dessert.
Read moreOn my first visit, there was no breakfast food, curt staff, and food was limited and average, all of which it a bit of a disappointment. The savoury pie pocket (the only proper food available until lunch) was clearly reheated in the microwave, making the pastry soft and soggy. The innards were ok at best, although the flavour wasn't great. The tea was pictured in a cute jug on the menu, but came in a plain mug. Staff greeted me with, "What do you want?" instead of being inviting or offering a menu. I did enjoy that it was very cosy and the cake was absolutely delicious: 10/10.
I subsequently ordered delivery twice, and am happy I did. The lunch/dinner food was great, and such a nice treat in Almaty's vegan landscape of almost endless noodles. The BBQ tofu pita pocket was particularly amazing—I ended up having it 3 times! I also loved the lentil soup. The doner kebab was also really good, as was the hummus with roast veg.
When I visited again, the staff member was much friendlier.
Every cake (with sugar/wheat, not the gluten-free ones) I had from here was astoundingly excellent—go out of your way to try them, and don't leave Almaty without doing so! The chocolate tahini cookie is also divine.
I wouldn't recommend the eclair; it was made with slightly off coconut oil, so the flavour of that was overpowering.
If you need it, the menu can be pulled up on the Wolt app and translated to English. There's a toilet and you can pay by card.

Very nice place with friendly staff. I ate the wrap, which was super tasty. I also tried the sweets, coffee and matcha. Everything was delicious. High recommendation!

simply wonderful! - Edit
this place is such a gem!
Read moreso many choices and a lovely atmosphere!
I’ve tried
- iced latte with almond milk
- pistachio macaroon
- eclair with nuts
everything was delicious!
there are seats outside but it’s extremely hot atm and I chose to stay inside😄
I’d hate to take away the vegan marking of the listing because a place like this is impossible to find in Almaty!
it’s worth mentioning though that they offer cow‘s milk and one cake is prepared using honey.
the service was excellent though and the girl asked what kind of milk I wanted, she didn’t assume that cow‘s milk is the standard.

Such a pretty little place - Edit
Friendly and easy to find - just look for the red piano out the front. I had an iced coffee, and a wrap to go. The wrap was tasty, filling, and perfect to take for a walk in the nearby mountains.

What a nice place! - Edit
Such an awesome place! Located in the vivid street "Abaya Avenue (West)" with many young and cool places, it's located IDK some meters away from the street with some green and a small brook, you immediately feel relieved from the stressful, loud and dirty traffic of Almaty.
Read moreThey offer (homemade) lemonades, café, cakes and lunch! It was good, I had Hummus plate with cabbage and a russian cold soup!
The staff speaks English and is very friendly, themselves being vegan. They told me about the vegan community in Almaty and Vegan Food festivals.
I'll come back!
