Good atmosphere but average food

The restaurant is huge and very nicely decorated. Food is reasonably priced. After ordering a vegan meal they brought over a complementary garlic bread but when I asked whether it contained dairy, it resulted in 4 staff members cruising round the table trying to work it out which was quite embarrassing (it did contain dairy). The waiter offered me crudités instead which was kind. I had the vegan falafel option and ordered a side of chips. The falafel came with a side salad and potatoes so the chips were superfluous but nevertheless the best chips I’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately the falafel didn’t taste homemade and was covered in an overpoweringly sweet chutney. I’ve had much better in Wycombe (Mezza House) and wouldn’t order this dish again. The atmosphere was good - another diner was celebrating a birthday and they played the happy birthday song and got the whole restaurant clapping.
