Quirky and tasty - Edit
Shiho runs this all on her own, despite that we were able to get a table and served fairly quickly by arriving at around 6pm. Vegan okonomiyake is made to your taste by choosing veg from a selection. Definitely a must visit in Osaka

Extremely cool place! - Edit
This place is very punk rock!! Run completely by Shiho-chan who is cooking away on the first floor, and announces when your food is ready through a speaker connected to multiple floors, there's a live stream of the kitchen, and you can chat back through a mic on each floor. Music is great, and so is the food. Awesome vegan menu - had the vegan okonomiyaki and could pick 5 veg to add and vegan cheese. My partner had delicious yakisoba and we shared a generous portion of fries. The prices are slightly more than elsewhere we've seen in Japan but definitely worth it. You make your own drinks (!!!!) for 200 yen and there's absolutely everything you could think of. I had decision paralysis and just had a whisky and coke! But there are dozens of liqueurs, mixers, spirits, syrups, wine and beer.

Memorable experience. Do go. If it feels confusing that's fine. Shino runs the whole place on her own, cooking everything to order. V good vegan options

Best fun ever!!! - Edit
Wow!!! This place is a little gem in Osaka! We absolutely loved our experience eating and drinking here. Shiho (the owner) runs the whole place on her own, and boy does she do an amazing job! It's such a fun space to eat at and connect with people. The food was absolutely outstanding! We will definitely go back again. Ohhhh and we loved the 200 yen make your own drinks station! So cool!

So cute. So good! - Edit
You can get a vegan okonomyaki, gyozas, yakisoba. The owner is SO nice and cute and friendly! She runs this place alone and it is just lovely. You order at the bottom floor and go upstairs to wait for your food, everything really spreads joy there and the food is good! A large okonomyaki is enough for two people!

Amazing restaurant - Edit
The okonomiyaki were delicious. So full afterwards! It's so impressive how only one woman runs this shop. The whole atmosphere is amazing and vegan-friendly. We were there around 8, did not have to wait for long.

Deserves 5 stars ⭐️ - Edit
I would have loved to give 5 stars but unfortunately it’s not possible. Still I recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t to miss out some of Osaka’s most famous dish as a vegan.
Read moreThe food is absolutely delicious, the restaurant colourful and the owner incredible kind and full of energy (she runs the whole business on her own!). Be aware of the fact that it’s always full and you might have to wait for some time (you can get water and free nuts while waiting though :))

5⭐️ (can only rate 4 b/c not fully vegan) - Edit
Impressive little one-woman-run joint in Osaka with delicious vegan okonomiyaki and gyoza! It’s a bright little storefront on a fairly sketch street. When you come in, take a number and go upstairs- with the option to self-serve and pay for a drink, so bring some yen! She will call your number and then you can come down and order off the vegan menu. When you get the okonomiyaki (a large is enough for 2 people) add some vegan mayo (!) and pull it apart as you go with chopsticks. Highly recommend!

Shiho! - Edit
We love Shiho, the owner, who is full of energy and adorable despite working nonstop in a hot kitchen till 2am. Spouse and I were impressed this was a one-person operation.
Read moreThey recently moved to a larger location about 3 minutes away (I did submit an address update here but will attach a photo in case it has not updated yet). I think there are 5 floors?
For the vegan okonomiyaki, you pick 5 vegetables to include on it. We also got the “cold tofu” dish and the gyoza.
The new location had paint pens so you could draw on the walls; the location is so new that there is still ample space. We would definitely return again if in Osaka! A very memorable part of our trip.
Pros: Wait was not as long as people have said, Amazing food, New location is roomy!
Cons: I worry the owner works too hard lol

Absolutely recommendable - Edit
We love this place, which we already visited on our previous trip to Osaka a few years ago. Be careful because they have changed places, now they are very close, in another space with several floors, much more comfortable. We love their dishes and their atmosphere, so we don't hesitate to return. The owner is a charm, and she runs the whole place alone with a lot of sympathy. An advice; When choosing the ingredients, those who do not know okura better not ask for it, because it has a very special flavor that is not for all palates. In addition to their delicious okonomiyaki, we also ordered gyozas. Note that the portions are quite generous. Absolutely recommendable!

Absolutely amazing - Edit
I would give it 5 stars if I could, even though they also serve meat. The owner is really cute, she manages to serve a whole restaurant by herself. There are plenty of vegan options, I tried the vegan okonomiyaki which was absolutely amazing. Be prepared to wait a bit to order and for your food to be prepared, but it is totally worth it. Please go visit this cute and delicious restaurant!

Awesome place, inspiring owner - Edit
Very good and filling food. Super cheap drinks for 200¥ each. Owner Shiho runs this place all by herself so drinks are self service as well as cleaning after yourself, but it gives the place a homy feeling. Great atmosphere.

Wonderful atmosphere, great vegan food, amazing owner - Edit
I love this place. The atmosphere is quirky and fantastic, and the owner/chef/everythingreally Shiho is simply amazing. Vegan okonomiyaki with many different vegetable toppings, including vegan cheese. Gluten-free as well. There are also vegetarian noodles and vegan gyoza. Also, vegan japanese mayonaise for the okonomiyaki. Delicious!
Read moreNote that it seems like it was recently relocated to a much bigger space. Had no problems getting somewhere to sit at 6:15 pm on a Thursday. Enough seating on multiple floors to accommodate groups.

Great place, great atmosphere delicious food, self-service drinks.
Read moreThe lady running this place is a delight. We knew there would be a queue, if we had had access to internet we would have gone out shopping after taking a number but we couldn't check the queue position without phone data, it was still well worth the wait.

Cons: Long queue

Great, non-traditional okononiyaki - Edit
Vegan okonomiyaki with a variety of non-traditional topping options. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very fun. The restaurant is very small and would not work for a group larger than four people (even four would be a tight fit).

Amazing experience - Edit
The owner is super nice and does everything on her own. We were amazed by how she does it. We were there 15 minutes before it opens but still didn't make the first round and had to come back after one hour with our number. The food was such a cool experience, you get to choose all of your topings and we didn't have to wait for very long. All in all super recommend! Next time i would just come 30 minutes before opening to get in with the first round. You have to wait either way and this way you'll probably have the shortest waiting time.

IMO Worth The Wait! - Edit
This place is a one woman show. Kudos to her, she does absolutely everything. I mean everything, so be patient, once your bum is on a seat you will get served and treated with haste and care.
Read moreFood was worth it in my opinion. Print a ticket at the kiosk from the top of the stairway. Scan the QR code to see your place in line. Enter your email to be notified when it's near your turn to come eat. Don't do what we did and wait outside for a couple of hours. Print your ticket and come back!!!
I do wish everything was vegan, as the animals would prefer that but vegetarians do have the option to eat egg.
Kudos to the owner, a very special young woman trying her heart out.

Huge wait for this place at all hours of the night, understandable because it’s one woman doing all the cooking.

What a fun place! OKO is basically a one-woman show, with the owner doing literally everything. And wow does she do it well. Delicious food with vegan options for appetizers and main. Very cheap beer (¥180!) and such a fun atmosphere with Japanese girl band pop punk music and brightly coloured walls. We got there at opening time and there were already people waiting. Not a problem as you get a number with a QR code so you can wander around or get a drink elsewhere while you wait. Scan the QR code to see how much longer the wait is (1 hour in our case). Great system. English menu is available. Such reasonable prices, cash only. Must visit while in Osaka!!

Amazingggg - Edit
The food was just amazing. The owner is so sweet, she is doing all the work. I would definitely go back just for her. But the waiting time is long(even though its worth the wait), try to get there early or go really late after 12.30 maybe. I would recommend taking the ticket first and then roaming around Dotonbori (you can track your waiting time online) till its your turn.
