Delicious!

Went here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and it was great! Great service, delicious food. Got the vegan fish sandwich (really yummy, not much “under the sea” flavor) and also had the vegan cheesecake and apple crumble for desert! Yum!!!! Also, the cocktails were yummy, expensive, but yummy!

Pros: Food, Service , Vibe/atmosphere

Cons: Pricy drinks , Not tons of ventilation

Cozy

Nice small neighborhood bar, cafe. Excellent service, vegan lunch. We both had a salad to start beet/Oak both were very tasty with the vegan house made feta added. I had a bowl of spicy curry vegetable soup with coconut cream broth (yummy). My husband had the vegan field roast burger and fries. We both really want to go back next time for their Sunday brunch.

Pros: Atmosphere , Great service , Close to light rail

I’d give Oak five stars if I could

Oak: American food, much of it comfort food, with extensive options for vegans, vegetarians and carnivorous butchers alike.

After being assured that it actually tasted nothing like fish, I got the vegan fish sandwich since it was the closest thing to a chicken sandwich on the menu; and, our server was right—it tasted nothing like fish and was absolutely delicious.

My older child went for the “Last Unicorn”, a fried tofu sandwich with coleslaw on top, which he raved about.

My younger child went for the (vegetarian) penne with cheese sauce, and between that and the vegan chicken fingers, French fries, and fried corn, he ate more than I’ve seen him eat at a meal in a very long time.

And then there were the other delicious dishes we tried: vegan kale fried chicken Caesar salad, vegan fried pickles (rockin’ dipping sauce with these), lentil soup, and the house-made Hostess ding dong-inspired cupcake, which brought the house down. And this was all topped off by some of the best and friendliest service I’ve had at a restaurant anywhere in the world in the past few years.

Our first visit was a smashing success and surely will not be our last!

Oak ain’t no joke.

Most of the menu is vegan or easily veganizable + they use Rebellyous Chicken, which is locally made + hella good. It’s my go to spot for a late night snack to go. I’m particularly fond of the fried pickle spears + brussels sprouts + I follow them on IG to keep an eye on the rotating specials bc they make some bangers + I’ve got fomo.

Pros: open late, close to the light rail, tons of options

Cons: some dishes are overpriced

Good option

We had the vegan pot pie and the vegan bacon burger. The pot pie was a bit bland but my partner liked the burger. There are lots of options on this menu, including dessert which I wish we had tried!

Pros: Lots of options , Typical pricing

Cons: Pot pie was a bit bland

Good biscuits but overall mid

Came with a couple of friends for brunch and we tried the vegan summer scramble, biscuits and gravy and French toast. The summer scramble tasted pretty good (just egg, nothing special) but did not match the menu description, which said it came with cherry tomatoes. It didn’t have any tomatoes in it. Very sad, tomatoes are my favorite. The kale was very plain, no seasoning. Everything needed hot sauce to give it flavor. I tried a bite of the biscuit and mushroom gravy, and I wish I had gotten a biscuit instead of the bread that came with mine. They said it was sourdough, but it tasted like stale bread from the store. My friend who got the French toast also said it tasted like wonderbread with sugar on it. There were plenty of vegan options, but we weren’t impressed with the food quality. I don’t expect we’ll be back.

Pros: Tasty biscuit and mushroom gravy, Several vegan options, clearly marked

Cons: Poor food quality

Vegan Brunch 😋

Atmosphere is mid-century kitchy Diner-in-the-Woods style. Staff is super kind with chill vibes. No one bats an eye when you ask for vegan foods. We had vegan poutine, biscuit w/ mushroom gravy, and vegan Oakie Dokie breakfast sandwich. Poutine was PERFECT and the fries stayed firm & crispy which is hard to do for any poutine 😋 Sammie was super tasty, the sausage patty added the right salt to Just Egg Chao slice melted well; seeded ciabatta aioli made it a cut above imo. Got a side of biscuit w/ gravy just to try it and biscuit was perfectly soft flavorful! Even the jam tasted either house-made or higher end. Overall excellent experience! What a 💎 on the Southend.

Pros: Poutine! , Oakie Dokie Breakfast Sandwich , Cozy w/ patio, back room, dining room, lounge

Cons: Could experiment with black salt on Just Egg

Great casual dining with lots of vegan options

Friendly casual dining with lots of vegan options. Great staff and decor and a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The aoili that comes with the pickle spears is vegan! This is a good spot if you are dining out with non-vegans.

Pros: Range of vegan options , PNW decor is fun , Friendly and knowledgeable staff

Everything tasted amazing

Visiting from out of state and this place came on my radar bc of the many vegan and vegetarian options they have on their menu. I tried the tofu bacon on the burger and their vegan chocolate cupcake and I was so pleasantly surprised! It was all amazing and I loved my meal. I will say that the vegan pot pie did not need broccoli in the filling.

Great pub food

Many vegan options on the menu. Many specials are vegan to begin with, but when they are not there is always a vegan counterpart. Daily soup is always vegan (at least I haven’t seen it non-vegan). Most, if not all, desserts are vegan. One of the owners is vegan, so they take care. Could I say vegan more times?

Great neighborhood vibe, wonderful staff, delicious food. Definitely visit!

Pros: Delicious, Lots of vegan options , Great atmosphere

Good vegan options and desserts

They had plenty of vegan choices, even for desserts, which isn't always common. The cupcake was delicious! The fish sandwich was really good too. I'd definitely go back. The ambiance was nice, and they had some dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Pros: Yummy vegan options, Dog-friendly patio

Chimichurri sandwich-yum!

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had here, from the fries, to the vegan Caesar salad to the vegan fish-wich. Oh, and the drinks. Great date night spot, whether your date is a vegan or an omnivore!

Vegan Breakfast

Yummy vegan options. Went here for brunch and had the “Chicken” tenders with waffle and the vegan biscuits and gravy. Both really good and would get again. I’m very particular about my hash browns, need the right amount of crispy, and they were excellent here with the biscuits and gravy. Will try adding the vegan sausage with it next time too.

Pros: Good COVID set up

Vegan Brunch

We all know that finding vegan breakfast options can be difficult, but Oak has you covered with a great weekend brunch menu where most items are available vegan. We tried the chick'n and waffles, and the "hangover" poutine, both were fantastic and very generous portions. The nut based "cheese curds" were perfectly tangy and the poutine gravy was to die for.

We also appreciated Oak's process for COVID-19 safety, which asked us to place the order online and opened a tab for us to dine in place without having to discuss our order face to face. Tables were well separated in dining spaces, and flow of traffic was directed to keep patrons away from employee only spaces. We felt very safe dining here.

Pros: So many options. , Good COVID precautions. , Fantastic food.

Very great vegan options

This place has many vegan options for an Omni restaurant, and they’re more than “remove x ingredient for vegan” options. The food I’ve had is very tasty. I recommend the fish sandwich — not a common vegan option and definitely hits the spot. Service is friendly and accommodating.

Great food and drinks

Needed a place to go with some omni friends and a picky partner. Oak was perfect. I had the field burger with fries, the fries Brussel sprouts, and the Oak Cupcake (which was like a big delicious hostess cupcake!). I loved all having yummy vegan options and appreciated how clearly marked the menu was. Loved it and will absolutely be back! Cocktails were good too!

Pros: Vegan options, Clearly marked menu, Omni friends were happy too

Great food and open late

Not everything is vegan but the options that exist are pretty good. The vegan burger is awesome and you can add extra stuff to it like caramelized onions!
Plus it’s open late as well!

Pros: Tasty food, Good portions, Open late

Cons: Expensive for what you get...

yummy!

I got the Phish Witch, it was super tasty! Had cole slaw and pickle slices in the sandwich, the filet was super crispy, the fries were yummy! Several friends had recommended this place and they were right! The kitchen drew on the lid of my takeaway box, too- staff seemed helpful, nice, and fun.
