Kinda ok - Edit
Service was pretty slow, there was a 20 minutes wait for table and the staff wasn't too helpful and informative about it.
Read moreThe food was ok, although a bit pricey.
Limited vegan options.
I didn't find any other vegan options in Sete Cidades, so if you're there, it's probably your best bet.
Pros: Vegan options are ok, Vegan options in Sete Sidades
Cons: Long wait, Pricey, Limited vegan options

We went here for the cake but there was none. I did have a lovely vegan salad, mixed bean apple golden currants and apple. They also have a tofu salad. But it's not cake ha!

There were only 2 salads on the menu (one with tofu and the other with beans and chickpeas). The vegan cake was not available. Very basic food but super beautiful place and ultra friendly staff.

Definitively the biggest suprise on this island - Edit
This tea salon is very cozy and modern at the same time. They have an extense menu, which includes some vegan savoury dishes, as well a vegan cake, which is available depending on the day. I have luck, since it was available on both days I visited the place. If you nevertheless got the cake, the salon is also a great option just to have a cup of tea from local planations of Sao Miguel.

Nice vegan options - Edit
The café has a very nice atmosphere and you can sit outside if the weather is nice. I had a tofu salad with mushrooms, which was quite good. It wasn't too special in terms of taste, but I was very pleased to see that the menu explicitly included vegan salads. The vegan cake is a classic sponge cake, not too dry but a bit crumbly. There was also coffee with oat milk.

Great vegan lunch! - Edit
We stopped for a late lunch after hiking in the rain and really enjoyed the tofu salad, vegan salad, and vegan cake. Portions are generous, and they made us soy lattes to go with our vegan cake which was lovely.

Good possibility for vegan tea/coffee - Edit
Vegan cake (mango) was good although very sweet. Several plant milk options for coffee but not very good coffee (instant?!). Nice Ambiente and service.

Cosy coffee & lunch place - Edit
A very cosy and cute place to stop and have a lunch and / or coffee and cake. Offers quite some vegetarian options but what's best also quite some vegan, e.g. olives with olive oil and aromatic herbs together with a bread locally baked in a wood oven; carrot soup; vegan salad (a super tasty protein bomb), vegan cake and plant based milk (soy and almond).
Read moreVery reasonably priced: cafe latte is only 2eus, salad of I think 500g at least costs 8.50 EUR.
Pros: Quality & quantity , Nice staff, Prices
Cons: Would wish for more vegan options.

Great cake! - Edit
Vegan cake was great. They had vegan butter and we had delicious local pineapple jam and butter toast! Served warm it was so good! The salad was not bad, but didn’t have much taste either. They had soya milk for tea which was great.

Few options but very good - Edit
I had the vegan salad, tomato soup, vegan cake, bread, and fresh pineapples. All very good. The cake is more like a sweet bread than sugary cake but that worked for me. The vegan salad was unique and very tasty.

Good - Edit
I had the vegan salad which is the only salty option but was great (salty and sweet taste with Apple and raisins). They have vegan cake too but didnt try it. However the lady working there could be nicer with other clients but she was nice to us.

Nice tea and vegan cake - Edit
Went there expecting to have just a cup of tea but found out they had a vegan cake so I ordered it too. The cake was good, quite sweet and a big portion, while the tea was amazing.

Nice try - Edit
O Poejo has a cozy vibe with indoor fireplace and has clearly labeled vegan options which include cake and salad. We only had the cake and it was just sweet, not really with any flavour. They had several plant based milk so we went for cappuccinos with oat milk. The coffee however tasted weird so we double checked there was no dairy used and the waiter explained with his poor english that cappuccino here is made from powder and that contained dairy!!! He said that it is common in Portugal (or Azores, not sure) so if we wanted dairy free capuuccino we should have ordered the "Homemade cappuccino" - another item on the menu. Too bad he did not give us heads up before, some might be allergic! They gave us free "homemade cappuccinos" after and apologized.
Read morePros: vegan salad on the menu, perhaps vegan lunch offer sometimes
Cons: cappuccino is not vegan!!! homemade cappuccino is
