Serves meat, vegan options available. Simple restaurant in front of the Norma's house. Offers a simple menu of tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, enchiladas, sopes, gorditas, and gringas. Except for quesadillas, dishes may be requested vegan. Has aguas frescas. Open Mon-Sun 6:00pm-10:30pm.

Una joya escondida

We stay the winter in Mita and eat at Norma's on average twice a week. Earlier this year, I switched from Vegetarian to Vegan, and found it to be quite a challenge in Mexico. But, Norma to the rescue! When I halfheartedly posed the question, she took the challenge, and now offers me (and anyone else) a great assortment of vegan options -- tacos, tostados, sopes, gringas, enchiladas and gorditas. The veggies are also super-fresh and delicious, and her mastery of subtle flavors is truly impressive. I've told her that if she were in France (where I've lived), she might very well have a Michelin star.

Pros: Incredible food, Amazingly inexpensive , Norma and Angel are great hosts

Cons: Only open, Thursday through Sunday
