One star - Edit
Very disappointing. As I’m used to great vegan food, this truly was worse than homemade. Everything came out in 5 minutes or less so I doubt it’s freshly made. We ordered limoncellos but got partial and the waitress was clueless. Just smiled and walked away. One of our appetisers was totally different to the one we ordered. Plus one of them came out with mains and one after the mains. I had the truffle carbonara. I truly make a better one at home. The spaghetti was so overcooked it just broke at every angle. My friend had the lasagna which was bland and overcooked to the point that there was no texture left. The tempura had no seasoning and it came with plain ketchup. I decided to also get the tiramisu, hoping it’ll match the vegan one in Rome but alas, it was basically vanilla pudding. It had no resemblance to a tiramisu. No coffee, no amaretto taste.
Read moreOverall, I’m quite upset that when people put in the effort to make a vegan restaurant they don’t make the effort to make the food taste good. So vegans have to “settle” with bland tastes.
Pros: Friendly service
Cons: Food, Drinks, Mistakes

Lovely little place - Edit
I wish we had more time in Florence so we could have returned to Nirvana so try more of their food. I was hoping to find fresh vegan gnocchi somewhere in Italy, and Nirvana really delivered. My partner really wanted fresh ravioli and said it was the best he’s ever had. Really loved this place.

Pretty good - Edit
We got the truffle tagliatelle, truffle carbonara and lasagne.
Read moreThe lasagne was good, I'd generally prefer the pasta sheets to be a little firmer but the flavour was good and it was saucy and moist too.
The carbonara was good, it was creamy and could taste the truffle, but it was very heavy and I couldn't eat much of it
The truffle tagliatelle smelt more flavoursome than it was, which was strange because I think the sauce was supposed to be the similar or the same to the carbonara
Overall it was a decent meal

Nice pasta, Bad tiramisu - Edit
Wir hatten die Lasagne und eine Pasta. Das war beides in Ordnung. Das Tiramisu danach war das schlechteste Dessert ever. Esst es nicht! Esst lieber Pasta!

I had the Carbonara with Truffles which was tasty. I also ordered a side dish (grilled vegetables) to my pasta , but they arrived when I was already done with my pasta.

The food was great, only the tiramisu didn't taste much like coffee. The staff was very nice and explained a lot when we needed it.

LOVED the taglioline al tartufo (truffle) and the risotto made with creamed artichoke.
Read moreThey need to improve their grilled vegetables (we were surprised when they served us plain boiled veggies with no salt or seasoning) and the vegan tiramisu was just ok - I think it needed a lot more coffee flavour. But I'm so happy to have found a fully vegan place in this city!

Yes, 100 times! - Edit
Not only were we delighted to find a fully vegan Italian restaurant, but their menu was perfect! It was very difficult to decide what to order, and everything we had tasted amazing! I had the truffle carbonara, which was loaded with truffle flavor, and had a generous portion of noodles. My partner had the lasagna, which was very flavorful, though perhaps not as filling. We split the secondi dish of Seitan lamprecotto, and the texture and flavors were on point (oops, ate half of it before taking the photo!). Lastly, the tiramisu was heavenly 🤤

Wonderful surprise - Edit
You might not expect to find a vegan restaurant in Florence. Last night my cousin & I visited Nirvana. They offer a great variety of delicious sounding choices. I opted for the lasagne and my cousin chose the gnocchi, but we agree that another visit is in order to try the carbonara! The food was very good, as was the service. I took their cards to give to our hotel in case anyone else inquires about vegan restaurants.

Tastes like home cooked food from nonna! - Edit
First night in Florence and very lucky to have a delicious vegan meal at this beautiful family run restaurant. The ravioli and lasagna were delicious and brought back lovely memories from eating at my nonna’s house. The staff were very polite and spoke very good English. My partner is a big fan of Tiramisu and this one did not disappoint. I am usually not a fan but ate half of it! Hopefully will visit again before we leave.

Amazing traditional Italian food - Edit
Having read other people’s reviews, we knew we had to come here…. We were not disappointed!
Read moreWe (slowly) ate through two courses each. The carbonara with truffle and seitan ravioli for our first courses, which were so flavourful, really delicious and fresh.
And for second courses the seitan in chianti with roast potatoes and the seitan pizzaiola. Again great tasting. I think the pasta dishes were better, and would really recommend these. Somebody nearby had the red pesto gnocchi which also looked great.
So much choice, it’s really a must for vegans in Florence.

So much choice!! - Edit
My husband and I were blown away with the amount of options available at Nirvana and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We shared the truffle carbonara and ragu ravioli. Even though my husband wasn’t hungry (apparently) he finished off the carbonara with a smile on his face and we made jokes about licking the plates clean. A must for any one in Florence - vegan or not.

A gem located in an anti-vegan region! - Edit
This restaurant was a little out of the way from where we were staying, but absolutely worth the 20 minute walk. The area also contains many bars, so you don’t feel like you’re too far away from the buzz, but it’s certainly an area that’s less touristy.
Read moreThe restaurant itself serves flavourful vegan pasta dishes (and more) that are impossible to find in the tourist restaurants - Florence is meat heavy, so expect marinara pizza, mixed salad or tomato fusilli pasta if you can get an option in those restaurants: not very inspiring. The gentleman that welcomes diners is lovely and the waitress that served our table was attentive and very informative. My partner is not vegan and finished off everything I couldn’t manage - high praise, as he has been critical of most places we’ve visited on this trip!
If it wasn’t our final night, I would return daily! Highly recommend to a) support a vegan business; b) enjoy something other than the three offerings in the centre; and c) not have to worry about cross contamination.
Pros: Variety , Flavour , Price
Cons: Slightly outside the centre

Very cute restaurant, nice staff, family-run business. Almost no waiting-time in the middle of the day. Vegan Carbonara and Lasagna were both delicious. We would have loved to try more dishes, but it was so hot outside that we didn‘t want to fill our stomachs up too much, haha!

A wonderful Vegan restaurant! We came hungry and tried loads of dishes and it was all delicious and reasonably priced. Seitan alla piziala, ravioli ragu, lasagna, seitan alla Chianti (which was the best thing I’ve eaten out in Italy) and a few desserts. 4* because some of the dishes were not complex, but that’s not what we came for as we wanted some authentic Italian dining which is exactly what this is!
