Amazing. Just amazing. - Edit
Probably the best place we visited in our entire Europe trip.
Read more1. Janhavi and her parents were the most courteous hosts ever.
2. The food was amazing. The entire menu was vegan and our dietary restrictions were taken into consideration too!
3. The place is very easily accessible from Florence train station
We visited the place thrice during our time in Florence and we were never disappointed. The food and the service: top-notch. And most importantly, the people: kind and extremely humble.
We'll be sure to recommend Nirvana to anyone who'll be visiting Florence in the future.
Pros: Vegan Food, Jain (no onion, no garlic) options available, Easily accessible
Cons: None!

Amazing traditional Italian food - Edit
Having read other people’s reviews, we knew we had to come here…. We were not disappointed!
Read moreWe (slowly) ate through two courses each. The carbonara with truffle and seitan ravioli for our first courses, which were so flavourful, really delicious and fresh.
And for second courses the seitan in chianti with roast potatoes and the seitan pizzaiola. Again great tasting. I think the pasta dishes were better, and would really recommend these. Somebody nearby had the red pesto gnocchi which also looked great.
So much choice, it’s really a must for vegans in Florence.

Maden var forholdsvis billig. Men ikke overvældende lækker. Det var dog udemærket.

So much choice!! - Edit
My husband and I were blown away with the amount of options available at Nirvana and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We shared the truffle carbonara and ragu ravioli. Even though my husband wasn’t hungry (apparently) he finished off the carbonara with a smile on his face and we made jokes about licking the plates clean. A must for any one in Florence - vegan or not.

A gem located in an anti-vegan region! - Edit
This restaurant was a little out of the way from where we were staying, but absolutely worth the 20 minute walk. The area also contains many bars, so you don’t feel like you’re too far away from the buzz, but it’s certainly an area that’s less touristy.
Read moreThe restaurant itself serves flavourful vegan pasta dishes (and more) that are impossible to find in the tourist restaurants - Florence is meat heavy, so expect marinara pizza, mixed salad or tomato fusilli pasta if you can get an option in those restaurants: not very inspiring. The gentleman that welcomes diners is lovely and the waitress that served our table was attentive and very informative. My partner is not vegan and finished off everything I couldn’t manage - high praise, as he has been critical of most places we’ve visited on this trip!
If it wasn’t our final night, I would return daily! Highly recommend to a) support a vegan business; b) enjoy something other than the three offerings in the centre; and c) not have to worry about cross contamination.
Pros: Variety , Flavour , Price
Cons: Slightly outside the centre

Blew my mind that this was 100% Vegan. Had the truffle carbonara and the lasagna - and it was sooo Good. I am an avid cheese lover and usually not into cheese replacements but this was done to perfection.

Excellent restaurant - Edit
Very cute restaurant, nice staff, family-run business. Almost no waiting-time in the middle of the day. Vegan Carbonara and Lasagna were both delicious. We would have loved to try more dishes, but it was so hot outside that we didn‘t want to fill our stomachs up too much, haha!

Big binge in Nirvana - Edit
A wonderful Vegan restaurant! We came hungry and tried loads of dishes and it was all delicious and reasonably priced. Seitan alla piziala, ravioli ragu, lasagna, seitan alla Chianti (which was the best thing I’ve eaten out in Italy) and a few desserts. 4* because some of the dishes were not complex, but that’s not what we came for as we wanted some authentic Italian dining which is exactly what this is!

Delicious! - Edit
It was so great to find a place offering vegan versions of some Italian classics. We had lasagne and it was incredible. The portion sizes were good and the flavours were perfect. A lovely balance of pasta, creamy béchamel and tomato sauce. The tiramisu was creamy and delicious but could have done with a bit more of a coffee hit. The staff were lovely and the menu had lots of choice for hungry vegans. It’s on the pricier side but we didn’t mind as the lasagne really hit the spot.

Simple but tasty - Edit
We ate here at lunchtime and there were enough tables available. The ambience is kept rather simple and the employees had a bit of a hard time with English, but the communication still worked. The lasagna had a nice fruity taste because of the tomatoes and we can't understand that it should be a block of cheese (previous evaluation). The spaghetti carbonara with truffle and tofu also tasted very good.

Amazing - Edit
I went here on my first night in Florence. My husband and I shared ravioli, two seitan dishes, and a creamed rice dish. They all were delicious. I ordered a liter of wine for only 9 euro too! It was very good food, amazing service and great ambiance.

Excellent carbonara - Edit
Finally found the vegan pasta we've been craving while in Italy. We got the carbonara and red pesto gnocchi and both were amazing. We also tried the ravioli which was only soso. The seitan is also great!

Very nice food, peaceful, quiet location - Edit
We sat outside on a lovely evening. Staff were attentive but not pushy. I chose 4 courses and my partner 3 courses. We were recommended the house red, which was ok.
Read moreFor starters we had the vegan Bresaola with rocket salad which was tasty if a little unimaginative and Vegetarian crostini
accompanied by chutney with vegan stracchino and Indian waffle which was very good.
Heard a lot about how good the Carbonara Veg was. It was really tasty although the pasta was slightly overcooked for my taste. My partner had the Spaghetti with tomatoes, olives and rocket which was 'right up her street'
For secondi I had Aubergine pizzaiola which was really good. For dessert, I had the Tiramisu which was well presented, very tasty but lacked the marsala kick. My partner had a lovely fruit salad.
Pros: Outdoor seating, Friendly staff , Good food
Cons: A little disappointed in the Tiramisu.

Good value meal - all vegan menu - Edit
Nice vegan option in Florence, good value for money and good sized meals. The Seitan dishes are made in house and are tasty. I would probably give 4.5 stars if I could, just because the dishes could be enhanced by adding some dressing to the salad and some more flavour to the sauces (I read below they don't use onion and garlic, so that could be why). Overall though a solid option in Florence for this price point, if you're looking for something non gourmet in a family run restaurant.

Meh - Edit
Honestly it was very meh. It was the first place we ate when we came because it had great reviews. If you’re used to good vegan food, this will be underwhelming. We got a roast that was under seasoned and lasagna was just a large block of cheese (in a bad way). Again, not bad. Just meh.

Nice it’s all vegan, but underwhelming - Edit
I was so excited to visit Nirvana Veg bc it’s all vegan! I will say there are a lot of options (which is always nice anytime us vegans get that), but it did not live up to the hype of being simply amazing. It is a solid option for sure, but not what I had expected. I really enjoyed the tagliatelle with mushrooms, and the carbonara was a close 2nd. The charcuterie starter was also pretty good. Neither my husband nor I ate the eggplant Parmesan…which is rare bc we don’t like to waste food, but it just really was not good. It’s quite an informal atmosphere. We ate just after lunch opening, and there were 2 other customers the whole time we ate, so it’s probably a place you can stop at last minute without a reservation (but that might have just been the day we were there). Would typically give 3 stars, but giving 4 bc it’s a fully vegan restaurant in Florence, which is rare.
