Lots of Great Options - Edit
Large portions and great options. Beware the wontons come with cheese in them even with the veggie dishes. We got the General Tso tofú and Spicy Basil Tofu and both were very filling. Skip the soup also, they all have egg.

Happy Change - Edit
This location used to be a Chinese restaurant and it is still a Chinese restaurant, but new name and new owners. Both these changes are huge improvements that have made this a much better eating experience as a vegan.
Read moreThe previous post beat me to adding this onto Happycow, so I’m happy to see they were able to make it happen. I agree with everything they said, with exception of their assessment regarding Shanghai and getting white rice only. Shanghai was and has been there as an eating experience for years when no one else offered as many options. Please consider supporting them too! Also, when we ate at the new establishment, we did get brown rice. Not sure if that has changed.
Flavors were wonderful, although wish the food arrived warmer. The girl that was serving us was attentive and took note of our feedback regarding the temperature of the meal. Was being made to order, so might’ve been having problems with one of their pieces of equipment.
Pros: New owners. New staff and New business!, Great flavors and many options, Brown rice, although that might have changed
Cons: Temperature upon delivery

Most vegan options for Chinese food in Pagosa - Edit
This new restaurant has vastly more vegan options than the other Chinese restaurant in Pagosa (Shanghai). It has the usual fried options like Ma Po and Kung Pao, but also lighter, healthier fare. For example, they also have steamed tofu in addition to fried tofu as a choice. For example, the Bamboo steamer with vegetables and tofu and garlic sauce is a light, healthy option if you are trying to avoid fried food--it was full of beautiful broccoli and other fresh veg, steamed to just barely tender-crisp (not soft), with triangles of tofu in the steamer, and sauce served on the side so that you can control how much you want. The family who owns it was proud to point out on their menu that they have more vegan options than their local competition -- love to see this as a priority for a new restaurant owner!

Cons: No brown rice (only white)
