meh - Edit
food was disappointing unfortunately. it was messy and would’ve been easily elevated if the burger buns were toasted and more balanced with veggies. otherwise it felt really heavy and salty and something i could’ve just made at home. i wouldn’t go back again unless i had to.

Retro background, fun and great tasting food - Edit
The smashed burger was really good. It's all the greasiness I expected of a food venue located in a bowling alley. The backdrop of a retro alley without all the bells and whistles made it a fun night. The people working there were really nice. They said they get people stopping by just to eat because it's the only vegan place in the area. It's also the only vegan bowling alley.

Cute bowling alley with a vegan surprise - Edit
Love that this little restaurant is in the newly remodeled Montrose Bowl! There was a private party going on when we visited, but the sign outside said anyone could order food to go. They didn’t have their mac n cheese burger, but the smashed burger was super! Reminded me of a really good, greasy (in a good way), cheesy diner burger 😊 I’ll have to visit again to try their other menu items.

Closed for private party. - Edit
I would recommend calling before driving to Never Caged. There was a private party and only take out was available on a very hot summer day—don’t want to eat in the car.

Yummy Vegan Eats - Edit
This was a nice cool find! All vegan menu and the food was really good. Its located in a retro bowling alley. Love the atmosphere and the fact that it was all vegan. They also offer catering, which is awesome.

Amazing Vegan Alternatives at a Bowling Alley - Edit
Shockingly, this place is located in a bowling alley, and you wouldn't expect the entire menu at a place like that to be vegan but wow. I used to visit the place when it was located in DTLA, but outside of the venue, and it's only gotten better. The food is amazing, serving vegan chick'n sandwiches and burgers and burritos and loaded fries, like omg.... I cannot get enough of this food!! During my most recent visit I ordered a burger, loaded fries, and fried pickles and they were amazing!! The food used to be a bit too salty for my taste, I used to ask for things to be lightly salted, but now it's just right. I'm glad that they're still around to serve up some good food.

What a surprise! - Edit
We popped in to peek at the Montrose Bowling Alley remodel and were so excited to see that there was a fully vegan diner inside! We weren’t hungry so we only had the fried pickles (I mean, we had to support them) but we’ll definitely be back to sample everything else.
