Delicious Coffee from a cafe that serves the community. - Edit
As a connoisseur of coffee shops, I can confidently rate the many cafes that richly populate Lancaster city and help make it such a wonderful place to live, and much to my delight, I recently discovered a new café on Prince Street, adjacent to downtown—part of its charm. I work better out of the house, so I am always looking for comfortable places that accommodate laptop-squatters, offer inexpensive coffee and provide accessible power! And because of the comfortable environment, the quality of the coffee, the friendliness of the staff and the location, Neighbors Café is now one of my favorite places to work.
Read moreAs its name implies, Neighbors Café opened with a mission to build and facilitate community and does so by providing services and events to promote and teach communication—the essential foundation upon which good communities are built—so I not only enjoy their services and accommodations but also feel good supporting their business. Neighbors hosts language classes, cultural events and facilitates discussion groups, and the founders follow a business model that gives back to the city: volunteers teach classes in the meeting rooms, they create a safe space for everyone and they even boast a solar cell on the roof to partially power the café with renewable energy. If there’s a power outage, they’ll satisfy your craving for morning joe. And it’s tasty coffee. They also make a variety of hot and cold drinks and offer a menu of locally baked pastries including scones and breads along with soup, salad and other lunch specials.
If you’re looking for a place to go on the weekends away from the tourist deluge, walk down Prince Street to Neighbors Café: a place where the residents can enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a comfortable environment and a space where you can chat with friends, get some work done or find the resources to better yourself.
Neighbors Café is our café.
Pros: Coffee, Comfortable accommodations
Cons: A bit far from downtown
