It has Closed

Today, I went and I couldn't find it. I walked around the market several times to no avail. I asked one of the shop owners nearby, and they told me that it has been closed😒

Two cooks each week

Our go to place for lunch/dinner. Two cooks take turns on cooking each week. Each cook serves one dish that changes every week. Check for the menu and opening hours on their instagram before visiting: nayuta.cafe.

Pros: Nice owners, Delicious food, Awesome Miso soup (not served every day)

Cons: Average to higher prices

Beyond Amazing

Finally!! I found a restaurant close to the university where there's only vegan food😄The owner (?) and cook cooks 1 dish every day. The food is free of GMO and MSG. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming 😊

Wonderful little restaurant near PNU

I loved it! It's quite difficult to find vegan food in this area, so on top of it being a rare find here, the food is absolutely delicious and the lady working there was super nice. Highly recommended.

Pros: Only one option - Chef's choice , Delicious , Very nice staff

Cons: Very small, which could be a con sometimes , Very few and specific working hours

4.5 out of 5

at nayuta cafe there are different chefs on different days. i was in busan just for the three day weekend and i wanted to try here, and the menu of the day was cold soba.

i made a reservation and arrived there when they first opened. the food was cooked fresh and all the flavors worked really well together. i got the large size noodle and a fruit lassi which was really unique and good. very refreshing for the hot day. i only knocked off .5 stars because the soba they used were not very good. they didn’t have a strong flavor, were a bit thin, and could have been better in my opinion. especially if that is the star of the dish.

otherwise, it was a great meal and i would definitely go back to try the other dishes and the course menu soon. they also sell some things like carrot rapeé and others in the fridge there.

vibes were great and it was a cozy spot where you can see them making everything. worth the trip!

Very tasty food!

To find the place a Korean woman helped me, so don't hesitate to enter in a shop to ask for Nayuta and show pictures, Korean are usually really helpful with foreigners! First time I got there the place was full so we couldn't enter. When I came back it was empty and I had a very nice meal! There is no menu, I just had the kind of surprise meal of the cooker. She was really nice. You have to pay by cash, but just let your bag to the restaurent and go to Hanabank next to NC Store to withdraw money if you don't have cash on you. The food was rice with a kind of vegetables cream on it, it was seriously really tasty, I've never tried something like that before. It's a vietnamese restaurant and you have some books and stuffs there too. It's really cheap, but you don't have an enormous plate. But it was enough for me!

Pros: Very tasty, nice cooker/waitress, very cheap

Like eating at a friend's place

We loved this place! Not hard to find if you know what you're looking for and I love that it's a set menu chosen by the chef for the day! So warm and welcoming, with an intimate setting where the food is cooked with love. Carrot cream pasta was the dish of the day - is it something I'd order off a menu? Probably not. Did I know what carrot cream pasta was? Nope. Was it delicious and exceed any expectations of had? YES!! The food was great and the whole experience for us was wonderful! So glad we made it here during our time in Busan.

Pros: Cute, cosy space - like a friend's kitchen, Delicious inexpensive food, Warm and welcoming

One-woman show!

Enjoy a more intimate dining experience at Nayuta Cafe - unique and quite different from other more conventional eateries. If I had to say, it's probably more comparable to eating at a private kitchen in Hong Kong, than it is to "eating out". In other words, it's kind of like being invited into the chef's home, rather than dining at a restaurant. The kitchen is in plain view, so you can actually see your meal being created. The lady who runs this joint is extremely efficient and is constantly on the move, switching between the roles of chef, server, cleaner, manager, and cashier. And she does it all with a smile! Ingredients are organic and no MSG is used, nor are any refined sugars (instead, sweeteners such as raw cane sugar a.k.a. "muscovado" and agave syrup are used). Only one item is on the menu each mealtime - on the day I went, the lunch item of the day was organic tomato noodles (유기농 토마토면). It looked very simple but it was very tasty and well complemented by the pickled cabbage side dish! Also, we were offered (and given) seconds - definitely something that wouldn't happen at a conventional restaurant. I happily accepted, and afterwards, ordered the organic soy chai, which was wonderful. (A variety of organic teas are available at an extra cost - darjeeling, soy chai, and a couple others.)

Regarding directions, just aim for Jang Seong Market (장성시장) which is a short walk from Jang Jeon Station (장전역) and look for the market guide map (situated near the market entrances). The shop you want is B-9 (Korean name of the shop is 나유타카페). It seems pretty popular, so I'd advise being prepared for a possible wait - I was lucky and happened to arrive before it got crowded, but several customers who arrived afterwards were told they needed to wait or come back at a later time.

Pros: cozy intimate setting with tasty food, all vegan and all organic, friendly shopkeeper

Cons: menu is set - chef's choice (delicious though!!), you may need to wait a while to be seated & served

update

The food is good but they have a set menu that varies each day, also the place can be a bit hard to find since it’s located within another building. Also, the restaurant is closed from December 26-January 7.

Pros: good food, fair price

Cons: hard to find, no menu variety

Hidden little gem

I went to Nayuta Cafe for lunch, and had an absolutely amazing curry and a very nice cake for dessert. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly.
It might be a bit out of the way, but it's well worth seeking this place out.

Pros: Very tasty food, Good value, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Unsuitable for large groups or formal occasions

Worth the effort of getting here.

I put off going here because it is a long walk from the subway, but it was worth visiting. The food was healthy and very tasty, definitely different from other vegan places in the city. Would like to try one of their set menus next time, but I believe you have to call a day or two in advance. Definitely plan on going back!

Lovely!

The quality and presentation you'd expect at a high end restaurant but at a very reasonable price. I've been here a few times with meat eaters and everytime been surprised with something different. The place is tiny and really hard to find but the food is always something special or well-made, home-style cooking.

Small operation, set menu

It's a small place and a little difficult to find, but we had a really nice lunch. There's only one option, whatever the person working cooks that day. We had excellent grilled mushrooms and a bunch of small dishes. It was inexpensive, but cash only.

Pros: Fresh food with lots of veggies, Rustic, but relaxing, Close to the subway

Cons: Difficult to locate

Great !

I've been twice to this place and was twice very pleased. The food was very good and the owner prepared some of it in front of us (the veganaise, the cake).
She's very friendly and could advice me on some other traditional vegan meals to be found in South Korea.
The Vietnamese coffee is very good.

Pros: Tasty food., Friendly owner., Nice atmosphere.
