A tranquil garden - Edit
In terms of physical spaces, Namu's outdoor garden is maybe the nicest place to dine in Durham. The food's solid, too, especially the vegan bibimbop.

Great spot! - Edit
I have driven by NAMU about a thousand times and never made my way in. I’m so glad I finally did! Not only did they have lots of yummy vegan options, their outdoor space was just beautiful. We met a group outdoors there and the staff checked in on us a few times to make sure we were comfortable (helping us get the heat lamps going) but they weren’t overly present (good thing). If you don’t love tofu, there’s not much as far as vegan options go. But if you do, you’re in luck!

Tasty Veg Options, Cool Vibe - Edit
Really cool space to hang out in. I love getting tea from their cafe while I remote work. Tons of vegan options and flavorful sauces to mix in. Check out the garden on good weather days.

No Hope Commons - Edit
It's unfortunate this place is tucked away in No Hope Commons. It's a nice little oasis with okay vegan options but I rarely go out there and never on purpose. :(

Pretty good - Edit
We appreciate the options available.
Read moreWe ordered two different bowls and the Korean pancakes.
The pancakes were our favorite.
The bowls were decent.
Staff seemed knowledgeable.
Parking was easy, however pickup was a bit confusing. It was located at the far end near the highway.

Yummy! - Edit
great service and yummy vegan options , they don’t label the options though so you’d have to ask what is vegan and what’s not , or remove items from certain dishes to make it vegan (allergen menu on request)

Gorgeous space - Edit
I don't know what took me so long but I finally checked out Namu a few days ago.
Read moreWhat a huge, gorgeous space with coffee, Korean food, beer, and fantastic outdoor (and indoor) seating. Ask for the vegan/allergen menu to help you decide what to order - several things are vegan-friendly! Add tofu to anything on the Dish Menu. Be sure to specify no egg on dishes that come with one. The Japchae and Veggie Pancakes are already completely vegan. Swipe to see the full vegan listing. We ordered the Burrito Bowl, Joe's Special, Veggie Pancakes, and an iced soy matcha latte. All delicious and very filling. The pancakes are very oily so be aware of that.
The beer hall is a separate entrance but you can still order all the same food as in the restaurant, and dogs are welcome inside the beer hall as well as outdoors. We enjoyed the food and loved the atmosphere. I'm definitely going to go again especially in the cooler weather to enjoy the outdoor space.
