Don’t worry, the line moves quickly - Edit
Super busy but super good. The queue went around the corner when I went but it was definitely worth it. The staff are super efficient and move quickly so we were only in the line for a few minutes. The mochi is warm and flavourful. It’s super interesting to see it get made as you move past in the queue.

Read moreI don't think I ever had a warm mochi, and that was surprisingly nice. They packed so much flavor, and the texture was soft and pleasantly chewy. On top of that, they were so affordable! My only regret is that I was still quite full from lunch and only had an appetite for one.

Delicious mochi made very fresh. I went to the shorter line of the ones made earlier in the day and it was still incredible. Great flavor, great texture, went back for seconds.

The mochi were nice and delicious. There are 2 different lines. The Long one is for the freshly made mochi from the Show, you have to wait a Long Time. The short one is for the prepared in advanced mochis and you directly get what you want and the mochi are still pretty good. Prices are very good.

Visited on September 25, 2023. It was incredibly busy at Nakatanidou, and rightfully so! My partner and I loved the mochi here. It’s probably the chewiest one I have ever had. A worthwhile visit if you are in the Nara area 💫

These are great little snacks, made right in front of you. They have a demonstration every 30 mins and it gets really busy, but if that’s not happening, you’ll walk straight up and be served quickly.

Some of the best mochi I've had in Japan! It seems to be quite a popular stop, but the line moves very quickly. If you're lucky with your timing, you might even be around to watch the chefs pound the mochi.

Loved these mochi! Absolutely one of the best I had so far in Japan. Luckily, there was no long waiting line when we went there but even if there is one, I can only recommend giving it a try.

J'ai moi-même du essayer ce célèbre mochi. Et j'ai adoré! C’était vraiment génial. Je particulièrement apprécié que le mochi n’était pas tellement doux. Très bien situé proche de la gare JR. Le prix est raisonnable (¥180), je recommande vivement 😽
