So many flavors! - Edit
We had two different set meals, both were delicious with a variety of sides and pickled vegetables. A bit uncomfortable if you are tall but still very cozy. The staff was extremely friendly. The chocolate muffin we had was also yummy. Our favorite so far in Tokyo.

...hm - Edit
The food is really good, and its a comfy little restaurant, good for coming with a small group of friends or alone. But the service is terrible, and the staff are pretentious, unfriendly, and standoffish.
Read moreI have eaten here many times, and on one occasion I found a piece of plastic in my food (probably from a melted/broken tupperwear) and all they did was take the food away with no real apology and nothing to replace the food. Very off putting experience.
Also another time a friend received rice milk with tea that they ordered which was rancid. When she complained about this, the chef came over to us and mansplained it couldn't be rancid because he made it....hmm?
This place would be better if their service was just as good as the food. The curry and Nagi plates are very tasty!

Finally a vegan resturant that serves good food at an affordable price. Located 5minutes from shibuya station, this gem is a must for getting away from the tokyo rush! Check out my youtube video for a indepth tour of the establishment!

My favourite restaurant in tokyo - Edit
Really cute restaurant with eclectic decour and an amazing music selection. I enjoyed their set menu of soy karrage, miso and salad. I also got some sake and the chocolate cake. We sat on the tatami mat stage and stayed back enjoying the music and the old books they had In English and Japanese. Definitely worth your time.

A little gem in Shibua - Edit
Whilst a little hard to find - well worth the effort. The food is amazing and very well balanced selection of Japanese and western fusion selections- charming little style and a comfortably great setting. The tofu in.tomato sauteed and the eggplant dish are amazing. Great experience...Thank you

Sweet, homely restaurant - Edit
Nagi Shokudo is a humble little restaurant with delicious Japanese food. I absolutely loved everything I tasted. I would recommend the miso and rice combo where you can choose three small dishes. It's very filling and the flavours are all unique. The staff were super sweet! I would love to go back there :)

Hard to find, very small but kinda comfy. I had a sample of soup and rice with different toppings. I'm not sure about the soup but the rice thing was very delicious. I also had a beer cocktail which was with ginger I suppose which was very delicious! Oh and the soy nuggets are great!

great vegan restaurant - Edit
An awesome treat finding a dedicated vegan restaurant in Shibuya. Good value for money and great tasty food, with 3 different options; we chose a curry set and the soy nuggets set. In other cities, the food might rate a 4, however for us this was a solid 5 given how great it was not to to have to navigate around meat on a menu... I know people are dedicated to trek to veg restaurants... but when you view in context of all the amazing restaurants on the street across all of Japan, it can become a bit disheartening sometimes seeing how rare a decent veg menu is. Anyway - this place is great - cosy, uncomplicated and tasty.

Pros: food style options

Hipster haven, lots of options - Edit
This had a Shoreditchy Dalstony vibe in terms of decor and attitude. Friendly and a little Hipsterish. We turned up without reservations and got a table straight away. It's not huge so could get a bit cramped if full.
Read moreThere's an a la carte menu to choose from or a couple of set options. We went for sets as it's so hard to tell portion sizes on a la carte bits. Set A was a main of soy meat nuggets in a miso dressing which were fab. Set B was a main of veg stew in a creamy sake-based sauce and was really interesting(and tasty). Tasted almost cheesey which was a surprise.
Both were served with a selection of small portions of cold dishes which were perfectly nice but a bit forgettable. They did have a nice Earl Grey and rhubarb cake for dessert though - stodgy but tasty.
There are more memorable places for Vegans in Tokyo, but this was definitely tasty.
Pros: Casual, English spoken, good Japanese options
Cons: None, though perhaps a little cramped

best meal in Tokyo - Edit
Very enjoyable food - amazing how one chef and one guy running the floor work together to keep the food coming and everyone happy. Great dinner choices - I particularly enjoyed their homemade ginger ale - can't work out what made it special but it was the best I've ever had. Seemed to be a lot of foreigners there when we went perhaps reflecting how easy it is to order in English however the food itself felt really Japanese and was presented and created with such care. A lovely evening out .

Hidden gem - Edit
We struggled to find Nagi Shokudo but we were certainly glad we made the effort.
Read moreThe interior is beautiful (and very cool) with both Western and Japanese seating available. It is a little small and although we did get a table, is clearly a very popular establishment! The food is healthy, delicious and vegan. We ate a variety of salads and curries and left feeling satisfied. I felt like the food was very good value for the quality.

Delicious filling food - Edit
I came here for dinner and had the curry set menu which came with rice, curry and a few bits and bobs on the side which were all very nice. The food was filling and yummy, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy. They have both western and Japanese style seating and a semi extensive menu. The only thing that bothered me was that it's a bit tucked away behind a wine shop! I actually tried to find this restaurant the last time I was in Tokyo, but I was unable to. Imagine my annoyance when I realised that at the time I had been standing right outside it and if I had only peeked around the hedge outside the door I would have found it! Oh well. The food was nice enough that I suppose it was worth all my consternation. It is a bit of a walk from Shibuya station, I'd say it takes about ten minutes and it's not the most interesting area but I would still say it's a really good choice for when you've done all your shopping and you just want to have some dinner and then go home.

Vegan or not, you must visit here!! - Edit
Thanks to Happy Cow we headed to this little all vegan cafe in Shibuya. It's a short walk from the station and we found it relatively easy.
Read moreUnfortunately for the cafe, it was very quiet for lunch but our meals were soooo good. We let the waiter (who had okay English but was very lovely) choose our selection for the set menu which consisted of 3 dishes, rice, miso and a drink for 1250¥ which we found very reasonable. We ended up with the deep fried soy meat with sweet chilli sauce, falafel with tofu mayonnaise, stir fried radish with soy sauce, panang style tofu curry, ratatouille and the stir fried potato with cumin sauce. All were excellent and different in taste so made for a great meal.
My favourite was the felafel and potato dish, my partner enjoyed the soy meat and tofu curry the most.
The also have a large selection of beers and wines as well as a cocktail menu.
Once we were finished our meals (which were more than sufficient in size), we ordered the chocolate cake. The cake was moist and tasty, very much appreciated since it's hard to read anything in Japan without knowing Japanese, it had been a while since being able to eat sweets!
Overall, an excellent meal in a cute setting. We will be returning when next in Shibuya ?

Delicious and great value! - Edit
Delicious food in a small cosy restaurant. Staff knew basic Engliand we had no trouble ordering. We both had the lunch set and it was filling and yum. It wasn't as difficult to find as made out to be - at the intersection it's right on one of the corners next to an Italian place that had a red sign 'Pinosalice' outside.

Cosy and Comfortable - Edit
I came here for lunch on a rainy day. As mentioned in other reviews, it's a little tricky to find but just keep an eye out for the street level sign and the stairs leading down to it are behind. I got the lunch set and it was all totally delicious. As it started raining while I was here, I stayed longer and had chocolate cake and coffee too. Both were exceptional. Friendly service with good English too. Fully recommended!
